Keep your powder dry and your head down! We'll have a drink in your honor at Canopener, as well as taking care of any pigmy rattlers that we encounter.

Great idea - (and a shameless bump on an old thread too)

This is a nice idea Steve. Glad to see this.

Hope you don't mind a plug an old thread of mine this time of year...

Went by the Airport today. Christmas Exodus has started and it was packed full of trainees. Brings me back to the days when I was in training, but glad it was 15 years ago!

I'll toss this out for consideration...
As part of my job I speak to our deployed troops on a fairly regular basis...
If you have any means of contacting a service member that is deployed, now is a good time...a simple "Happy Holidays" seems to go a long way during this season.

For those of you who are not aware or have not seen this movie, Restrepo is an award winning documentary about troops in the Korengal valley, Afghanistan. There is an encore showing tonight on National Geographic. This was the unit SSG Guinta was attached to (The most recent Medal of Honor recipient).

Restrepo Feature Trailer - Trailer Addict

Today we attended the US Army All American Bowl game in San Antonio, TX. It was truly patriotic to have four living recipients of the Medal of Honor on the firled before the game including the most recent recipient SSG Guinta.

We're in too!

We're an Army family (1995-present) that is very new to Streaming. In fact, we pick up our new trailer this week, Lord willin' and the creek don't rise. Schedule dependent, we'd love to hang out with some other military Streamers along the way. This is a great idea.

By the way, for those of you who are wondering what it's like in the current theater of operations, I recommend the Gary Sinise-produced documentary Brothers at War. I've seen a lot of the current Hollywood offerings of the Iraq situation, and BAW is the only one to come close to the real thing. For mature audiences only, but it's real. The Hurt Locker is pure fantasy, by the way.

Steve, PM inbound.

I too joined in 1995, but had a break of service for five years due to injury, and I am currently on a break to finish my degree. I have not seen the BaW documentary yet, but I did buy the movie, "Restrepo" after reading about it.

Got your PM, will be in touch.

Steve

Help with space A availability

I am starting plans for my summer vacation probably going to Florida. Without a true reservation system for the Military parks you show up and if a slot is avaiable you can park. In some cases there may be overflow but that doesn't seem ideal to me. In cases you may have to divert many miles and if late maybe out of luck. Any suggestions how successful you have been . Any suggestions for Pactrick or Eglin or Hulbert. Thanks

Unless you have been in a cave, you likely have heard about the US Special Forces operatives along with CIA who have killed Usama Bin Laden. May God bless and protect all of our troops who are still in harms way.
