SOYBOY, you plan it and they will come. At least we will if the weekend works out. How about something in the fall? Fall in Western Maryland is divine. Greenbrier is good also. I am boon dock ready so that leaves an open electric space.

You do know there is a TAC get together the weekend of may 15 very close to you?

You could start a thread with the heading. TAC rally at MD. Ect. I'll be putting something together next year or later this year. Have been wanting to do a 'gathering' at an area of Watkins Glen. Big gatherings are great but the best have been 4 to 6 units for us.
Do what you love and invite others to join you.
Maryland isn't too far for us. CT 5 & 9

Frank, thanks, I'll have to check into the group site/reservations. Of course, in the fall the campground is not very busy so we could just stay on a loop. The only problem is trying to get sites close to each other as I don't think you can make campsite reservations after the end of Sept. But maybe the group/family site will be available.

Thanks also for the tip about the Scotty get together. I saw you posting on the earlier. I would have been interested , but our daughter is being "confirmed" in church that Sunday so even AS trips have to be put aside. Hopefully I can make another one. Although I am not Vintage, I love vintage trailers. With a 14 y.o. it can get crazy trying to schedule stuff. I usually make reservations way in advance and then try to fit her schedule around them. Heck the first trip out in our 'new" As a couple of weeks ago was a solo run to Cunningham Falls for a Sat. night as she was busy. This weekend we are heading up there again. I would have headed out to Rocky Gap, but they have a Girl Scout dinner in Lewistown (just south of Thurmont) Fri., so it works out better to go to Cunningham Falls as they can come up after the dinner. Even though it's only a few miles from the house, it's a world away from our life in downtown Fredneck.

BTW, sometime when your not super busy I would love to stop up at lunchtime as I work near Laurel/Burtonsville, not too far from the Trailerworks. Don't know if you like visitors though...

Dennie, I would love to visit. I live very close to where 70 meets the beltway... Ya, ever go to the Lewistown Fireman's Oyster and Turkey Supper? Now a rally that could encompass a visit to the Firehall for that feast might be something to really consider. No where have I had home cooked food at such a great price and the oysters, oh, the oysters... That event is something to be experienced for sure.
Vintage, new, and even just a little curious about Airstreams is all that's needed for this club.

Thanks Frank, when I catch up at work in the next week or so I'll give you a call and see if it's a good time to stop up. Yep, I've hit Lewistown and most of the other firehall dinners during my many years here in Fredneck. I could each a whole dish of oysters and a pile of country ham in my day (not to mention hush puppies if they had them), although nowdays I am a vegetarian! Don't worry though, I'm not militant about it, it's just something that I evolved into. My wife and daughter will be at the firehall Friday evening oinking out at a Girl Scout event, I'll be dining al fresco at Cunningham Falls next to my new (to me) Airstream.

I guess you have noticed it on other trips back and forth to Quantico (btw I have been wanting to get down there to the museum). You might also know that Cunningham Falls is next to the park ( Catoctin) that contains Camp David. Although the copters have flown over my house most of my life, it is pretty cool being on top of the mountain when they fly over at treetop level!

Have a safe trip, if you ever have problems or need anything around Fredneck, be sure and let me know. I live not far off of route 15 in the downtown historic district. As a point of reference I get of at Rosemont or Motter Avenues depending on which direction I am coming from. I am very lucky as I am able to rent space behind my house for the AS. Not many folks can keep a trailer in the Historic District. (I'm knocking wood!).

That was me Woodysdad.

I am currently in the hospital with my sweet wife. We've been dealing with a lot of health issues for many months.

I have a plan but I've not scouted the route yet as I had wanted to. I am even not certain anymore if I will make it at all. I will notify all who pm'd me about this as soon as I know exactly what is going on.

Glad to be in the TAC. We quit the WBCCI. The dues were too expensive and the politics were uneeded. We did like the Vintage Airstream club though,

Just go to post #22 on the first page of this thread and shoot Rob an email. He'll get you added to the list and issue you a unique TAC member number. They like to keep it simple.

Welcome aboard!!

Hi Rob, question/suggestion about the flags. Most of the flags that I purchase look good on either side, so when flying, no problem. I did purchase a unit flag that only looked good on one side, and the solution was to purchase a 2nd flag and sew them together, thus maintaining the uniform look no matter how one approaches/views the flags.

Not sure if this adds a lot to the cost or if it is even possible, but I would love to be able to purchase only one flag and not two! Still haven't gotten around to that first sewing project I am not sure, but I would think the added weight would affect how the two sewn together fly in relation to the other flags up there.

Thank you very much for all that you are doing to make this club a success! With your military and family duties, you must be very busy!

May God bless you, your family, those you love and serve with, and thanks again for your service to our country and this club!
