Somebody just bought a nightmare.

I hope it's nobody here.

The good news is that it's shiny. The bad news is everything else.
  • No step
  • Awning trashed
  • Propane cylinders are highly questionable
  • Rust!

Not trying to be ornery here but:

No step? - doesn't seem a big deal to address.
Awning trashed? - doesn't seem a big deal to address.
Propane cylinders? - definitely not a big deal to address
Rust? - yup - could be a big deal

Obviously you know something we don't - so what's the story?

I don't know anything but what I see - plus my own experiences with a trailer of similar age.

Hmmm nothing I see that scares me from the pictures. Mine was worse than this when I got it and at least it has an awning at all mine doesn't

The interior definitely looks nicer than most, and while 7k is on the high end, it's a 76 and not a 60s model, which means the rust might not be as bad as it would be on an older one.

My Lord, The thing is 39 years old, surely you didn't expect a new one for 7k, though they are available for around 90k

What I'm gathering from the comments here is that mine is worth a lot more than I thought. Plus, I got a good deal on it 12 years ago.

12 years ago the Airstream market value was way below where it is today.
This one looks pretty ok to me on the crappy EBAY page. You cant tell from those photos what lurks beneath.
But overall it is not bad and could easily be worth more when some interior redo is completed.
At least no one is screaming it will need AXLES at this point
