Ebay Airstream by AirstreamInc.

Have you folks noticed this rig on Ebay:

1966 Airstream Trade Wind Travel Trailer 24' - Complete Refurb - Polished - in RVs & Campers | eBay Motors

Note who is doing the selling and who did the refurb.

They had it on display at Alumapalooza. It was very nicely done by the service center guys over the slow winter season. It didn't meet reserve on Ebay, and they were asking $65,000 during Alumapalooza

Beautiful refurb! The current bid is a bargain for what looks like has been done; but $65k is a little steep for me. Someone is going to get a great looking Airstream, and hopefully a good deal!

There are 2 things I wonder about with that trailer.
Does the TV swing out so you can actually watch it?
From what I've read Airstream would insist a trailer that size would get 3000lb axles and some say 3500lbs may be heavy enough to damage the trailer.
So why did they use 4000lb axles?

Maybe the people who claim you should have at least 25% of the axle capacity in reserve are right.

Gotta love it, but I am happy with my 66 for considerably less cash.

I'm having a hard time with the rear window. I just think it looks odd.

I hope it had a perfect frame and floor. That is not mentioned in the updates.

From the photo, it looks like there are two FantasticFans. Also, those aren't the standard alloy wheels; they look like Sendel T02's to me. I wonder if the tires are actually 225/75x16 (maybe Michelin LTX M/S2's) on 16-inch wheels, like the Eddie Bauer models.

I also wonder about the frame and floor; although it's hard to imagine that they completely gutted the inside and put in all new walls, cabinets, appliances, etc., and didn't fix any problems with the frame/floor.

Beautiful Airstream refurbished by people who should know how to do it right. If I didn't already have our Bambi, I'd be interested; but not at $65K.

Does anyone know if the factory refurbishes vintage Airstreams like this all the time; or is this a special, one-time project?

Does anyone know the maker of the adjustable pedestal that the table sits on? It's exactly what I need.

The table pedestal looks kind of like this one:

3-Stage Table Pedestal - Silver Anodized Finish - Springfield Marine 1660230 - Tables - Camping World

Note: Link above is for illustration purposes only. This product is available from numerous other suppliers, and probably at better prices.
