Bates RV selling a '88 Aluminum Argosy?

1988 Airstream Argosy Limited 35' Travel Trailer - One of a kind - Rare Find ! in RVs & Campers | eBay Motors

It says one of a kind but I wonder what makes this an Argosy? It has the front panoramic windows, and a horsemen mural . Is that it? Bates should know their stuff so Im sure its legit why there is a 1988 silver Argosy I couldnt venture a guess.

The Argosy line was discontinued in 1979 when Thor purchased Airstream.

Were panoramic windows options or even standard equipment in 1988? So this sounds like a marketing ploy to move a 35' limited off of Bates lot.

Yes they were available. We have a friend with a 1985 or so with the panorama windows.

A tri-axle Argosy from 1987/1988?

Is this the spec for the squarestream? The trailer in this auction is tri-axle as is this spec...

I suspect the "Argosy" name is being used to draw in more lookers much in the same way "Airstream" is used in many ebay ads for S.O.B.-aluminum trailers. People interested in the uniqueness of Argosy's may be attracted to the uniqueness of this trailer.

It looks to me like a customized Airstream 34', not quite sure why they are using the Argosy name. Argosy were a painted aluminum trailer built by Airstream and used as a test bed for quite a few interesting things that never made it on to the Airstream line.
