The WBCCI is an Airstream club that Wally Byam started by in 1936 because he was president of Airstream and he would should people what Airstream could do. He would take these caravans all over the world and see things and wanted people to have a club for fun fellowship. You can read more if you go to the website. I belong to it. It's a great club.

Sorry to correct you, but the Wally Byam Caravan Club was formed in 1955
, not 1936. It was formed at the request of Airstream owners that were on trailer caravans lead by Airstream founder Wally Byam. Wally just allowed his name to be used and provided office support for the club.
1936 was the first year that Airstream built an aluminum skinned semi-monocoque travel trailer similar to what we know as an Airstream today. The company was formed in 1931, but built wood and masonite trailers before 1936, and after 1936 along side the aluminum ones until the company closed it's doors due to materials rationing for WWII. When Airstream reopened after WWII in 1947, it only built aluminum trailers.
