Hi,

I'm Gerry Letourneau Jr. Some may know, my father was president of Airstream back in the 80's. He wrote a few articles for the WBCCI newsletter and I was looking to get copies of them.

Hopefully, someone has a few 40 year old copies laying around somewhere

I know this is a long-shot, but thought I'd try.

Hi Gerry,
The club has a full set of Blue Beret magazines in their archives, but the staff at club HQ likely does not have the time to dig thru and scan them for you.

I have a reasonably complete set from the late 1970s to current, but may be missing an issue here and there. In time, I might be able to look thru them and scan some articles for you, but I need to narrow down the timeframe to search.

If I remember correctly, you father had an article in just about every WBCCI magazine while he was President of Airstream. I believe he was installed as Airstream President after Thor bought Airstream on August 29, 1980, correct? And he remained President until his death, correct. Was that about 1984?

Thanks for the quick response.

That's pretty close, his passing was in 1988 though.

I was actually looking for one article in particular, (though any would be appreciated) and I don't recall the date but it would have been in late '83 or early '84 I believe.

He wrote about being bothered by my dog whining, when it wouldn't calm down he went out to correct her. He ended up kicking a post in the yard and busted his toe. If I remember it was a funny piece back then. In today's world it might not be so acceptable, I know.

Again, I know its a big ask but if you happen upon an essay or two of his, I would be very appreciative. I would gladly pay for your time, copy fees, etc.

The Airstream Company now has a full time Historian/Archivist/Curator who would like to talk to you. Airstream also opened a museum they call the Airstream Heritage Center at the start of this month.

Though I don't own an Airstream, the company has been a big part of my life, especially as a teen. The new Center sounds fascinating and I will look into it.
