Ironically the radio was the first purchase we made after the trailer. It was an eBay buy, it was professionally rebuilt. It works good. Thanks crazylev! Curtains are going up today. Vintage barkcloth.

For some reason, as I’ve gotten older I find myself reflecting on my past. At 73, I remember my first encounter with my aunt and uncle’s ‘52 Silver Streak Clipper when I was 11, and later in their Tradewind. What I’ve loved about this amazing restoration, has been your insistence on honoring the heritage of Airstream’s progenitor. All of us who love what our Airstream represents in our lives (and this surely varies), connect with the affection you have expressed through your skill and hard work on this truly “one of a kind” trailer. From reading every post I suspect many of us feel we know you, and have the utmost admiration for the care and love you’ve shown to Wally and Stella’s traveling home. Think how thrilled they would be at your amazing renewal of trailer #1. Those of us who have the big red numbers salute and thank you for sharing this journey.

Thanks BAB! Haha no vintage clothes. I hope we have time to do laundry before we go!
Started at 5:30 am stopping at 10:30 PM. Tomorrow a very short list including a test tow and retorque of lug nuts and once over for what needs to be tightened etc.

Hundreds and hundreds of people in the door the last few days. We showed it for 12 hours on Sunday.
PeeWee and others have been in. It’s been a pretty crazy but fun couple days. Today marks 4 days in a row with no trailer work. It’s been more than a year..
The folks running International have made it an amazing experience so far.

I like the less roof seams on your #1. Seems like more craftsmanship forming the roof with less pieces. Glad to see both in their former glory.
