Bambi or Bambi II?

I recently purchased 1964 Bambi II serial # S-017410002. I know it is a Bambi II, it is 17' long, has a Bambi II floor plan, etc. However, it has "Bambi" script lettering on it. The "II" did not break off. I looked closely and the badge is intact, weathered the same way all around, so I do not believe the "II" broke off. Is this a weird coincidence? I grew up in a 1966 24' Tradewind Double and a 1972 31' Sovereign Twin. Lots of fun camping since 6 days old!

First off, welcome to the forums & congratulations on your new trailer!

Based on your VIN number, it appears you have the second Bambi II off the Ohio line. My guess is they used up a couple of the old lettering plaques on the early models. How many more are out there? Nobody knows...but I would assume 0001 has/had one too!

Wouldn't be the first time an early model had some carry over parts.

Welcome! We're glad you found us! As a former Bambi owner, I have to tell you I'm jealous! I concur with Shari's assessment... as Bambi II #2, you're probably looking at the last of the original Bambi nameplates!

havin' to fix my broken Airstreams since 1987...
