Airstream Vintage History Books.. LUCKY ME!

I have been slowly but surely amassing a collection of all of the old Airstream related books that are listed on the VAC site.

I have LOST copies of "Thank you, Marco Polo" on Ebay FIVE times at 100 dollars plus.

One came up for sale on Amazon for 18.95 last week.

I coudln't believe my good fortune; I bought it immediately.

It arrived today.. what a COOL book, and I feel like I've won the lottery!

Tell us about it! What's it about? I've only heard there was an old cookbook by Byam's wife or something. What other old books are there about Airstream?

I haven't had the opportunity to read the Thank You, Marco Polo, but have had the opportunity to read several of the other books on the VAC reading list. You can find the VAC reading list at:

Vintage Airstream Club Reading List (Out of Print Section)

Vintage Airstream Club Reading List (Current Publications)

Thus far, one of my favorites from among the out of print books is the Trailer Travel Here and Abroad. Among the current publications, I would find it quite difficult to choose my favorite.

the cook book is a WAY cool litle item that was a fundraiser int he 70's.

I have one to put up for sale on Ebay, when I get around to it.

The forward is written by Helen Byam Schwamborn who was I have heard, Wally Byam's sister or cousin, and I think she was treasurer or some officer in the original club.

I have a copy I am keeping, and I LOVE it.

But go to the VAC website and look at the history books ...... WAY COOL!

Got it, LOVE it, it's full of tips and cool info.

I ran across a copy at the Goodwill, when we first bought Luna!

Running an antique shop has been a boon to finding and fitting the old girl with retro accessories. That turquoise kitchen and bathroom can be a challenge!

But while searching for OLD turquoise, I find an occasional book!

Bookfinder.com is currently showing 20 copies of Trailer Travel Here and Abroad for between $70 and $300, depending on condition.

Hi,

The book was written by a Caravanner, the foward was written by my Mother Helen Byam Schwamborn. I have an autographed copy from my Mother's estate with a personal thank you letter from the author of the cook book.
