22' fb

When did Airstream start making the 22'FB model?
I have to wait to buy one when they are in my price range and want to know how long I have to wait.
I am currently selling my 2001 30' Excella and looking for a smaller model.
This is my first posting.
Thanks

The first year Airstream officially offered the 22FB floor plan was 2008 as a Safari Sport. It is possible it was a mid 2007 introduction, but it does not show up in the 2007 brochure, so can't be sure.

The Safari Sport became just the Sport for 2009.

Yep, and that configuration started in 2002. The layout: front bed, barely full size, large closet on the roadside, followed by a long countertop that goes all the way back to a spacious wet bath. Small desk in the rear. On the streetside there is a nightstand and privacy screen in front of the door, behund the door there is a dinette (over the wheel well) which seats two adults and two children. Dorm size refrigerator fits under counter.

Unfortunately it has known frame breakage and floor problems. 3 inch frame twists and breaks, floor is not plywood but OSB. rear bumper holds water which seeps under the bottom trim and ruins the floor. On cell so getting links is pita.

The 2006 CCD, while a 22' front bed model is not exactly the same as the 2008 Safari Sport thru 2019 Sport and 2020 Bambi and Caravel 22FB. One notable difference is that the 2006 CCD was a dual axle, while the 2008 to current 22FB is a single axle.

Hi

As mentioned above, the 22' "Sport" is a bit different from other 22's that have come out. If you are specifically after a Sport (for whatever reason) it also has an end date ( = they dropped them from the lineup).
