That refrigerator door with the map was a part of the International trim package in
1963. Lesser Land Yacht Airstream models did not get it. I don't think that door carried over to
1964 models, but maybe some early 1964s got it, not sure. Exactly how it came to be is not known, but that was during the time when the Airstream Around the World Caravan (ATWC) was being planned, so that might have been the inspiration. The ATWC began in September 1963 (just after the
1964 Airstream models were introduced) and ran to November
1964.
