Volume 1, No. 2 and Volume 2, No. 2, of the Wally Byam's HOLIDAY sales folder list "Holiday Trailers, Inc., Jackson Center, Ohio" as the manufacturer. I imagine Airstream spun off this new venture into a separate corporation to insulate the mother ship from liability if the Holiday didn't last. I have talked to one local (JC) supplier who ended up being owed money from Holiday Trailers, Inc. in the mid-fifties after that company folded.

Someone ambitious could check the Ohio Secretary of State (or other responsible department) records for more information on Holiday Trailers, Inc., such as date of incorporation, organizers, officers and directors, annual reports, and maybe date of dissolution or the date it was declared defunct if not formally dissolved (which generally requires that creditors be paid).

Fred,

Of interest Wally created the aka Airstream, or Airstream aka Wally.

On the back of V 2 N 2, the tie in of Wally to Holiday still exists under the first used column "Who is Wally Byam."

Just passing!

Dale

Nothing at the Secretary of State on Holiday Trailers yet but - interesting note:

It appears Beatrice Foods took over Airstream on 12/5/1967 and dissolved ownership on 12/4/1972.

Well, I finally had a chance to get out to Colorado to see my Daughter and Son-in-law for 2 weeks. We did alot of work to the Holiday. We have everything working now. Figured out the wiring for the trailer lights, replaced all the lenses and got all the light sockets either replaced or cleaned, got the stove going (new propane line), new copper line to the toilet and sink, fixed the hand pump faucet at the sink, propane light inside also working and replaced all of the wood that was rotted. Replaced the floor tile and did a general cleanup. We decided to remove the small heater as it just didn't look like it would be safe. He will store it away for future use though. Still need to polish the outside and my Daughter picked up some new material the other day to recover the seat cushions and put up new curtains. We even hooked it up to the Blazer to give it a test tow run. Included some pics for those interested. I have more, but have yet to get them off the camera. Thanks for looking and the help..

That's just a cool old trailer. I think it looks good behind your Blazer, too.

I had a '95 Blazer (fiirst model year of that body style) that I absolutely loved. It went 12 years and 180K miles with no major problems, and I towed my boat extensively with it. I finally let it go last year and replaced it with a Tahoe, which has a ton more power, but there are times when I really miss the more nimble Blazer.

1955 22 foot byam holiday info??

I have a 22 foot byam holiday in immaculate condition. What could I sell this for??? I was told it's probably the last one on the planet and about a dozen were made. It is not the curved airstream type trailer but is all aluminum and looks similar to the 15 foot.

Hey all, Sorry I missed this post earlier. I'd love to talk Holidays! As Fred Knows, I have tow Holidays. I evidently found the first one to surface in anyone's memory as I had a heck of a time trying to find anything about ti.
I have since bought my second one so now I'm the proud owner of two.
I am restoring the later model. My first one is serial number 1094. Fred's article uses photos of both of mine since at the time he wrote it, mine were the only two anyone knew about.
I have started a web site on my progress. (lwebb.myweb.uga.edu) Don't type the WWW. The site is full of bugs and I have done a great more toward the restoration beyond what the site shows. I am now reinstalling the renovated cabinets and seats beds etc.
I'll update soon,.
From what I gather there are now five out there with new ones being discovered with amazing frequency.

Your site doesn't seem to work at all, except for the text parts.

Hey, I know, Sorry, It evidently crashed end of last week and I've been working on it over the weekend. I think I have most of it redone if the server will accept the revisions. I'm uploading the new site as I type.

Hi Rick,
Does your son-in-law still own the Wally Byam's Holiday? I am starting a registry for surviving examples and would like to add it to the list. The photo you provided of the serial number is very washed out, Is it 1097? Thanks in advance.

Hi aonderobk,
Sorry for the late reply. Do you still own the 22' WB Holiday? If not, do you still have photos you can share or remember the serial number? I am creating a registry of still existing WB Holiday trailers and would like to add yours to the list.

I have only ever seen photos of two 21' (the advertised length) WB Holidays, one restored and one a project (or maybe the same trailer before and after restoration?). I have some photos of the restored 21' WB Holiday (never saved copied of the unrestored one), but do not have it's serial number. I would love to be able to include the serial number of a confirmed 21' WB Holiday in the list. Photos of the trailer, and especially the serial number badge, would be appreciated..
