Weber Traveler grill—how do you transport it?

I bought the Weber Traveler grill. It's huge! Does anyone else have this? If so, are you transporting it in the trailer or tow vehicle?

I've got a Chevy Silverado 2500 with plenty of payload capacity, so I could put it in the truck bed. But it takes up quite a bit of space.

I suppose I could put it in the trailer, maybe on the floor near the queen bed. I have the soft case/cover, so it shouldn't cause a mess. This would put the weight close to the rear axle of the trailer, which might be better in terms of towing dynamics.

Same grill and truck!! I put mine in the truck bed and stack lighter stuff on top if space becomes tight. I couldn't see putting it in the trailer - it's too cumbersome.

Yeah, that makes sense. I have a locking tonneau cover on the truck, so I'm even thinking of storying the Weber grill in the bed (during camping season).

Personally I would not want the grill in my trailer.

Keeping it in one place while towing is one concern.

And, no matter how "clean" I keep it, it's still a grill with residual gunk on it, potentially attracting bugs, mice, etc. or getting that gunk on the interior of my lovely Airstream.

Mine goes in the bed of the truck.

I took off the lid and placed them in my rear side storage area under the bed, stuffed toward the rear bumper thru the side access door.
I just might use it for the first time next week and proceed to plan B. Garbage bags to trap the smell and any drippings following use (Plan A). So far it has been hanging out there for over 4,000 miles. Wish me luck!...J

I have 2019 F150 and keep in my bed as well. I also stack light items on top. My problem is loading it and unloading it alone as it is very bulking and difficult for one person.

I did not consider the bug & rodent issue. Not stowing it under bed following use.....J

Plan for the best case while considering the worst case.

I gave mine away; Too cumbersome. I have the Webber 1200 Delux w/cover. I use a folding bbq table that I got years ago with my O grill. Works for me and less space taken up plus easier to manipulate/move around.

Put our Weber1200Q either in the back of the 2012 Ram 2500HD Cummins with camper shell when towing our 2014 31’ Classic or in the back of our 2021 Land Cruiser when towing our 2015 23D International Serenity

I have a Silverado 2500HD with a 6' bed and it's in the back. Plenty of room for other items. Have the grill cover (sold separately). This reduces the amount of dirt that the grill gets from road dust and the amount of dirt the grill leaves in the bed.

Like the lower profile over the Weber 1200. Can cook in a wind where the 1200 flame would get blown out. Easier to transport. Both cook about the same.

We have a cheap gas grill that we sometimes take with us on short weekend trips not far from home. Last weekend, we didn't have it and we grilled steaks on the campfire. It worked well after there were lots of hot coals. The camp firepit had a folding grill section.

Airstreams lack the interior pass through storage of conventional trailers. If you don't want to clutter the interior of the trailer, bulky things end up in the tow vehicle. Or you pare down the non-essentials and emphasize travelling over camping.

We use the Weber Smokey Joe charcoal and stow in a plastic tub.

Well, this is one reason I got an HD truck with a much higher payload—the ability to put heavier items in the bed without worrying about the weight. I have the cover for the grill too. I agree it makes more sense to put in the truck bed. I'm planning to put our Outland propane fire pit back there too.

I bought one of these a couple years ago primarily to use at our Club Rallies. I've only used it once! It works great and it can grill with the best of the them. But, it's too big to travel with. So now it sadly just takes up room in our garage. I think it is going to go on FB Market Place very soon...

Ahhh… The Grill. We could start a museum with all the grills, smoker, kettle, folding, gas, wood, pellets, propane and blackstone variations that we’ve tried. I bet that there are still a few more options out there.

My wife says; "no there's not! I've tried them all...she says!

Exactly what I did. Fits perfectly under the bed accessed from the back storage. I even have a 10lb propane tank back there. I also store the grill cart there.

This hasn't been an issue so far for me. I've done it like this for 12 years now.
