I would recommend the carry bag, which has a cover and a bag, because the cooktop is messy. To store, the top turns over, cover with the elastic cover, and drop in the carry bag.
Here's mine one late evening. Brats, onions and diced potatoes.
I'm still using the 1# cylinders, although Amazon sells a 12' hose for the low pressure port. Be aware the grill end of the hose uses a special fitting, not the usual gas grill fitting.

As I said we use our 17 Blackstone and no longer carry a grill. We use it with a larger tank and hose since we use the tank for the propane firepit we take too and I've heard they can go through the small cylinders.
I have the hood on the 17 which I highly recommend as it helps to cook faster, keeps things neater since grease is not splattering. I originally had the carry bag which came with a separate cover so now we just use the cover since it won't fit the carry bag with the hood.
Its usually the last thing packed in the back of the truck on the floor of the bed as its the first thing to come out. We went over 9 weeks cross country and the majority of our meals were cooked on the Blackstone. I have cooked everything I used to cook on my grill on there including ribs. No smells or grease inside and everything for dinner cooked on one device.
I have a large Weber at home which is sitting there neglected since I bought a 22 with hood and stand for home and the the little Weber Q is lonesome by itself in the garage where it lives. Have not missed it once.
You could probably attach it to the Airstream propane outlet but since we don't have that I couldn't say for sure.
You'll love the Blackstone.

I have both those "Q's", the larger one for many years, and the smaller one for 2 years now. I hardly every use the larger one because the smaller one is so awesome and is our go to grill. It amazes me how quickly it heats up and can get to 600 degrees in maybe 15-20 minutes. The best our larger one can do is maybe 400 degrees. We typically take the small propane tank (5 pounds?) which lasts a pretty long time.

I, like others, considered using the AS propane port, but quickly decided I didn't want to grill tethered to the hose and thus limited location. If conditions are windy, I usually find a lee side location for the grill...and that might be on the other end of the AS to the port.

Happy grilling!

I've been on the fence for months about which grill to buy and based on this latest thread plus others in the past, I figured out what it was I really wanted/needed. I went to Amazon site this a.m. and ordered the 17" Blackstone, hood and utensil set. Airforums is such a great source of information and referral. Thanks all.

Griddle for Baby Q

You can also buy a griddle for the Weber Baby Q, it replaces one grate and works really nice. We carry the grate in the box the griddle came in just in case we need it. The most desirable feature of the Weber Baby Q is the fact that it will work in very windy conditions, not many grills can say that

Actually Amazon has some other brands of conversion kits like Shinestar that are Prime qualified. Free shipping plus a 12’ hose for less money.
