We converted ours to connect to the front valve quick conn Ct and use a 10 ft extension hose.

At some point, "recycling" the little cylinders probably is not a good idea. I'd put dates on them and retire them after some period of time. Is that 5 years or 1 year? It depends a bit on how excited you get about things .... It also depends a bit on how hard you are on the tanks.

If it’s a standard DOT disposable cylinder it’s both illegal and highly dangerous to refill them. Real refillable small cylinders have a 10% valve that opens with a wrench to prevent overfilling. Standard disposable cylinders do not, and for this reason can be overfilled and present a fire and explosion hazard.

Not a good idea to just buy a bulk to small cylinder refill adapter and use it on non-refillable bottles. Highly hazardous.

Is there a measurable advantage of the 3/8 inch hose over the 1/4 inch hose?

Not sure if an increase in hose diameter would be advantageous over a 20 foot run.

My understading is that a larger the hose equals more volume so more fixtures can be attached to the system. Pressure Stays the same. Kinda like the plumbing in your house. One fixture, 1/2 inch pipe from the source to the fixture. Three fixtures start with 3/4" pipe , tee off with 1/2 to the first, at the second tee off with 1/2 " to it and the third. Same pressure but more initial volume to handle the fixture.
Any professional gas guys out there?

If you look on the Propane Gear website you will see the quick connect conversion kit. They have added a new product since I purchased - the Reverta-Q. This looks like it would work in conjunction with the first kit. In my setup with the parts purchased from Propane Gear I have to take off the conversion kit and attach the short hose, and regulator. This is a bit of a pain and I like the look of the Reverta-Q.

Hi - We have a 2008 AS and it doesn't include a quick connect near the tanks. We also have a Weber Q grill that has worked well for us. We store it in a tote in the bed of the TV until it's needed.

Our solution to not using the 1lb cans was to get the Weber Adapter Hose. This lets us use a 20lb bottle that we can either refill or exchange at multiple locations. In a emergency it could be used to augment the AS propane supply.

The Weber adapter hose was an inexpensive and simple solution for us to avoid using the 1lb cans. https://www.weber.com/US/en/accessor...s/adapter-hose

For travel the bottle sits in a milk crate in the bed of the TV so it doesn't roll around. We also use a bungee cord to hook the crate to a cargo tie down to limit any other travel.

We've found that storage, setup and take down is quick and easy. All the grill stuff goes in the grill tote and the milk crate just gets hooked up and your off an running.

We're happy with the Keep it Simple process.

Do you have a regulator on the 20 lb tank to get the gas to 'low pressure'?

It's not necessary. The adapter hose connects to the existing grill connection. The regulator on the grill drops the tank pressure to usable levels for the burners.

OK, I see now that it is the same threading as the 1 lb bottles.
