We use the oven to make toast, it's quite fast but requires flipping the "toast" over once

We have a 800 watt Hamilton Beach unit that will toast both bagels and toast. So far no dents while in the roof lockers.

What? An Airstreamer actually getting their oven to light, let alone using it for its sort of intended purpose? Utter heresy!!!!!

We plug our toaster in next to the stove top and turn on the exhaust fan. No smoke alarm problem that way.

Dualit New Generation toaster
I was happy with my Hello Kitty toaster until I saw your Dualit toaster in this thread. Started looking and IF you are going to spend the $$$, check them out at Crate and Barrell where the price is reduced right now.

When I outfitted my AS with a toaster I purchased a small Cuisinart model that fit perfectly in the cabinet. Recently in trying to multi-purpose everything i wanted a way to bake without propane if hooked up electrically. A toaster oven was the key; however, I researched them and found out about something called a flash oven. I must tell you that I used it when camping recently for the first time. Neat. They go on sale for about $99. A flash oven requires no pre heating. You put in what you want to cook and either use a preset button for commonly cooked items or the temperature timed method. I had some frozen biscuits to cook for breakfast. The package was 375 for 22 min I believe. I put them in a cold oven pressed 255 and hit 20 min. They were done in 15 minutes perfectly. It cooks fast. The drawback is the opening 10x10x4 or so. But it works as an oven for most things and toasts too.

If you put a piece of aluminum foil or a pot lid on top it's even faster. Inexpensive and compact. It uses the stovetop, so the exhaust fan will normally keep the smoke alarm from going off. Also available at Camping World if you're combining an order get free shipping.

I've have my Dualit for many years & expect to take it with me when I get my Airstream. It's a great reminder of what's to come.

How about a vintage Toastmaster?
https://www.google.com/search?q=toas...%3B2048%3B1536
We had one very similar to this when I was a kid. I know it was prior to WWII - thing lasted into the 1960's and probably could have been fixed. Certainly more durable than anything I could buy today.

I have the one I grew up with. It still works. I want to replace the power cord with a three prong plug with a ground before I use it. The heater wire elements are exposed inside the unit and should one break it could contact the metal housing. Back then most houses were crawl space with wood floors. With today's concrete slab on ground (or in an aluminum trailer with a damp carpet) touching the metal housing of a failed unit could be serious.
But it would look great in my trailer!

For my first marriage in early 1967 we received a Toastmaster toaster. My parents had one when I was growing up so I was really happy to get it.
I still have the Toastmaster, it still makes perfect toast every day and has never given me any problem. 45 years and still going strong, now that's quality. Unfortunately, the Toastmasters of today are nothing like that. Low quality is king these days. eBay is your best bet to get one of the old ones.

We simply use one of those little camp toasters on the burner of our propane stove. Makes great toast... and no electricity!

Adding to the good suggestion above: pre-heat it and then lower heat a bit. Toast whether or not we have AC power, and, when the weather is nice, we can use it outside on the grill.
Easy to stow - folds up to about the size of a saucer.

Old school chromeplated Toastmaster Model 1B5. Still makes great toast.
Was over 20 years old when the '59 Tradewind was brand new.
