Cooking for one. I am going to hijack this thread and NOT apologize. I always used to cook for six and vacuum bag 4-5 portions. Even with the small freezer I could go for days just reheating good food.. Then my old sealer died and I haven't gotten around to buying another. Too many choices.

I need small &durable... without a Dyson price point if possible🤥🤥

Recommendations please?

Paula

I believe mine at home is a FoodSaver, and 4-5 years ago was about $200.

Works great, uses different sized bags or ones you can make to suit the size you need.

My favorite is the pint sized, holds just enough of a main dish for one person.

I have completely forgotten to mention one of my favorite lil devices that does not cook but heats stuff real good while driving. It uses 50 watts ac so ya gotta use an inverter. It keeps food at 150 degrees. I chop up leftover steak and sausage and throw some spinach in there with a can of soup and drive for a couple hours and it's hot. But it ain't for cookin it says.

Also there is an entire line of 12-volt devices from the sailing world. We have this warmer oven which works great, but is pretty small:

https://www.amazon.com/RoadPro-12-Vo...s=12+volt+oven
Slow cooker: https://www.amazon.com/RoadPro-RPSL-...T24JQK1RB67M5Z

More 12-volt appliances can be seen at the bottom of the pages above.

Throw some frozen burritos or sausages in, and after about 30 minutes of driving they are ready to go. The smell drives you nuts!

Here is one old thread on 12-volt devices:

We saved up for a year and bought a real nice pressure cooker at the fair $250; used it religiously until the InstantPot came out, and the pressure cooker folks were no longer at the fair . Later bought InstantPot. The pressure cooker will go in the AS as it cooks with propane. InstantPot will stay at home.
