baggs - That is a beautiful setup you have!

DogMomDeb - That Ignik tank looks very nice. Pricy but throw in a 20% member coupon, 15% REI/Mastercard dividend, and the fact it includes a hose it could be a good deal. I would go for it!

hikingcamera - I too used to fill my own 1lb tanks. I have the FlamKing kit and refillable bottles and still use them for the lawn weed burner at home. Problem we had with them was: 1) A couple started leaking around the core. FlameKing replaced them but it made me nervous. 2) On longer trips they were useless as I did not have the ability to refill them on the road. That's when I switched to the little 5lb tank.

They are also less convenient to refill. A refillable tank is definitely easier. $135 more convenient? Not sure.

I’ve been looking at cheaper options (tank and adapter hose) and they all end up being close to the Ignik. And yes we would get back from the purchase on a membership reward if we get it from REI. Only problem is in the comments that the hose might not fit the Camp Chef stove.

I don't see why it would not work with your Rainier. You are not replacing the regulator and the hose adapter screws into the end of the regulator just like a 1lb bottle. Worst case, it's REI so easy return.

Additional information regarding my Campchef Ranger II.

I removed the propane hose and regulator, then I installed an elbow and a couple of adapters to convert the propane interface to be compatible with quick disconnect hoses. The last adapter in the sequence is a male quick disconnect fitting.

I place the ranger II in a container and carry it in the front storage locker of my 2022 globetrotter 27fb twin.

See photos below for more information and the exact container that fits the Ranger II.

I also purchased the windscreen below via Amazon. It wraps 3 sides of the stove and protrudes 3-4 inches above the top of burners. This blocks the wind from disturbing the flames under pots and pans.

Cut the regulator off this one’s hose and install a LP quick-connector system downstream of the trailer regulator. I use this to cook outdoors, iron skillets, or pancake grill, dutch-oven, etc

That won't work because the flame control is part of the regulator. What you need is one that has a fixed regulator and a separate control valve. Your suggestion would result in max output all the time.
