Oven mats

I have the convection oven in my airstream and have a bit of an issue .. Whenever I am even slightly off level at a site, any dish I place on the turntable slides to the lower wall due to the turntables non-stick surface; at which the dish doesn't turn and the heating elements proceed to burn that side of the meal.

Can anyone recommend a mat or other solution (silicon pad?) that will add a level of grip between the turntable and a pot, and is temperature safe to 400F?

Thanks!

Ian

A suggestion stolen from a sailboat… On each microwaveable dish, run a circular bead of DAP silicone sealant around the bottom. To get a smooth surface, after applying the silicone bead, press the dish onto a sheet of waxed paper until the bead sets. The waxed paper will peel off, laving a smooth, flat bead.

Then you'll have non-skid dishes instead of needing a nonskid pad. The stuff is food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.

Don't know about its temperature resistance, though. The couple that gave me the idea only had a microwave on their boat, not a microwave/convection oven.

Amazon and others sell circular silicone mats meant for microwaves that have a temp rating high enough for convection ovens.

Oven mats

Thanks all - yeah, the thought of silicone in my mind's eye is already as a lubricant/non-stick surface, so I am simply unsure of its ability to grip and hold. I'll check out some of the options to amazon and post back results here.
