I saw this recipe on the side of a bag of King Arthur wheat flour. I was wondering if anyone has tried it. I like how it looks since it appears not to need excessive kneading or a second rise.
- I cup lukewarm water
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil (1 3/4 ounces)
- 3 tablespoons molasses or maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Grease bread pan
Combine ingredients, beat vigorously for 3 minutes.
Scoop dough into prepared pan.
Cover pan with lightly greased plastic wrap- allow to rise for 90 minutes.
Bake in preheated oven (350) for about 30-35 minutes tenting it with aluminum foil after 15 minutes.
Cool completely before slicing (always the hardest part for me)
