It's almost time.

I used to go to Colorado every summer. Home base in Montrose on the western slope.
I remembered that about july, the area around Olathe has their sweet corn festival. OMG! The best sweet corn I've ever had. You see it everywhere during the season, sold off the back of pickups, sometimes on roadside barbecue grills.
Don't worry about finding Olathe (It's a little north of Montrose) because it's everywhere in Montrose too.
The bad news is you can't save it. By the time you get home, it's lost it's magic.
When the new AS arrives, I may have to back for some more. Simple pleasures.

The sweet corn festival at the South FL fairgrounds has some excellent corn from the Okeechobee area. You're right about needing to eat it freshly picked.
