You have to try the Colorado Pot Brownies. It's like two birds with one stone.

I'll second that, the Key Lime from Publix is really good.
(but my DW makes better)
Publix also has pretty good cheesecake.

If you are in Kansas City, go to McLain's bakery for butter buns and chocolate drop cookies.

So we have found Mrs Field's chocolate Chip cookies sandwiched around ice cream to be a great desert in a whole bunch of states. It's the first investigation after checking into an RV Park.
Understand Ben and Jerry have a special connection to ice cream in Vermont.
Any other ice cream states of note? Pat

Visiting the Ben and Jerry plant in Waterbury Vermont is something I do every summer. If you ever are in Vermont it's a great way to spend the day and it's near Burlington a very nice little town on the Champlain lake.
The few times I was in St Louis I specially enjoyed frozen custard at Ted Drews and it gets bonus point because it is on historic route 66. Leopold ice cream in Savannah is also worth a detour.

Morning Call was a long time fixture in the French Market then relocated to Metairie in the 80's.

There's a little hole in the wall family owned ice cream shop near Candor, NC, Chappel's Ice Cream Shop. I've been know to drive 110+ mile round trip on a warm Sunday afternoon for the home made fresh peach ice cream (fruit grown locally). The butter pecan is great too. They are only open during summer, and then only open if the temperature is above 70F.
If you are in the area at the right time of year, it is worth stopping! They serve ice cream out of a window, no seating.
Candor is well known for it's peachs. Locals buy them by the bushel.
It is at the intersection of I-74 and NC-211 (the exit for Pinehurst golfing)
I think I'll make an ice cream run now! Ice cream for lunch

I will third that. Publix makes a really good key lime, and I love key lime pie. On the day I retired, a girl at work got the key limes and made me a pie for my going away party. That was REALLY good key lime. Publix would be second to that

It's doubtful if any here will be RVing to Hawaii, but if you do happen to find yourself there, You should try the Lillikoi chiffon pie. That is passion fruit, sweet tangy and sour all at the same time.
The best comes from the Lodge up at Kokee St park on Kauai.
Good thread idea, important info before travel to any new area.
Cheers Richard

Oh! This goes on the list. A lot more than 110 miles, but we search for peach ice cream every year and it's often no where to be found. Butter Pecan is our daily favorite at home. Got to find this on the map. Note, we carry our seating with us. Traveling with an RV is the greatest. Go for it! Pat

Best Dessert In Every State
And in Florida...PUBLIX Supermarkets Bakeries for the W I N !
They are in several other states besides FL and all their bakeries are amazing although not sure their outstanding Key Lime Pie is available outside of FL. Their in house selection of specialty cakes can't be beat. I'm thinking Chocolate Avalanche or Chantilly cake.
That said, the very best Key Lime pie (all their pies for that matter) is made at JGandy in Palm Harbor, FL! If you enjoy peanut butter you've gotta get a peanut butter pie from J Gandy. They serve a lot of the high end restaurants too.
