19CB Garbage/Wastebasket

For 3 seasons now we have simply hung a plastic grocery back from a hook on the right hand side of the sink cabinet in our 19CB to put garbage in. It is unsightly but we weren't sure where else to put garbage in our little Bambi. Just about to order a small stainless wastebasket that will fit between the cabinet and the dinette but thought before I ordered it I'd ask what other 19CB owners do with their kitchen waste. Any advice greatly appreciated......

We use a small plastic bin, with liner, fastened to the table leg by means of a loopy stretch cord (the kind with a plastic ball).
With only two of us, we can fit our feet in.
It rides nicely going down the road.

I am not sure which particular trash can you are considering. We have this one in our 27 FC and I highly recommend. The bags from simple human are tough and do not leak. The lid shuts tightly so smells like onions stay contained. Dogs can't get it open. It does not tip over or move during travel.

Thank you both for you comments. We have two large dogs and there seems to always be at least one napping under the table so attaching a trash can to the table leg probably wouldn't work for us. Clever idea though.

I really like the Simple Human brand and that's a nice looking trash can. Unfortunately I have been unable to find any place in our 19' Bambi that a can that size would fit.

Here is what I ended up ordering as it will fit between the galley sink cabinet and the street side dinette cushion.

I have the white plastic trash can with lid that comes with a locking mechanism. my wife and i put it by the wall near the door. If needed, we move it closer to kitchen for throwing away bits of food, fats, potato skins. when done, we move it back to the wall. If needed, I take the can outside near grill. the can does NOT stay in one place.

We use the Simple human garbage cans and bags. Good quality

We use one for food related garbage and another for other non perishable garbage

We also save plastic, glass and paper for recycling in an open box

This fits perfectly in the 19CB and it looks "Airstreams".

wastebasket in 16RB Bambi

I bought the Simple Human step can -- thanks for your post on this topic. We have small dogs, so the open can doesn't work for us. In the 16 ft. Bambi, the can fits between the dinette and the wall beside the door (facing the panoramic window, that's to the right), with room to spare. Well, an inch or two. And it does not move around during towing. While I'm cooking, I bring it out and place it under the dinette table for easy access, then tuck it away.

I use these two: an over the counter trash can I got on Amazon( great to hang in front of the sink when prepping meals. When not cooking hangs on credenza door. A five gallon black bucket with seat lid. Will make a cover. Keep it by door as it makes a great seat to put on / take off shoes.

I bought the 10 litre Simplehuman container with the butterfly lid. My wife thought $70 (Cdn) was too much, but it turned out to be totally worth it. It is bottom weighted and has rubber feet. It doesn’t move when we’re travelling.
