Wife and I just decided to say goodbye to our city living lifestyle
Hi,
I didn't see a new members sticky so.. (probably is one but I am....(fill in the blank)
I am a nearly 40 IT professional with a wife and bun in the oven (our first).
We have been together for about 10 years, got our "dream home" and proceeded to nest and figure out what we want from life..
Well 10 years later we didn't know yet until recently what that was. It has taken some time but we think we have a good basis for answering that question: traveling and living in an Airstream and raising our child..soon.
Why are we throwing away our jobs (I actually like my job) and selling off our house and stuff (most of it) to live a completely new way? We both love to travel and feel the traditional construct of what a normal life is considered to be is just not for us.
My wife has a very useful skill set that can work in this lifestyle and my skillset can possibly also be leveraged on the road. I do however wish to pursue writing and music in a more fulltime basis. The plan is..
Take about a year to get ready which means sprucing up the house for a sale, saving a bit of cash to add to our savings and wait till the baby is born. We also need an Airstream and possibly a new tow vehicle if my Ridgeline is not up to the task. We are looking at FC's and IS's up to 24" and will consider used up to 2016 and new models. Have some time to find the right one which we assume we will need to travel to find.
I look forward to talking with the members here as we prepare for our new journey..
