Who is brave enough to admit to putting out pink Flamingo's on their campsite?

Huh, I just searched for pink flamingos and Airstream and learned that pink flamingos and Airstreams are synonymous. Who knew? Certainly not me.

So now I really need to see some photo's of pink flamingo paraphernalia and your Airstream !!!

When we lived in a newly developing acre lot subdivision, we became a tight knit group of young couples growing a new vibrant neighborhood. Part of that activity was meeting at different houses, having cookouts, driving the kids around on lawnmower trailers, impromptu gatherings involving burgers and beer...you know the drill.

A subsequent activity after the party was to determine who had the most fun, became the rowdiest and sometimes a wee bit tipsy as the evening wore on.

The following morning, the winner would find a large pink plastic flamingo planted in his/her front yard, to stay there until the next neighborhood gathering. Needless to say, I had a hard time getting the pink flamingo off my front yard.

Pink flamingo goes to...!!

Foobar, not only do people put them out but there are many designs, even handmade. They might also get decorated if the rally has a theme.

It really is a thing. It's just not everybody's thing.

And there is a thread in the "Off Topic" Forum called "All Things Flamingo" with photos.

These guys were going to the Mardi Gras rally a couple years back.

My son just gave us two pink flamingos as a gift for our Airstream. I’m planning to use them on our next outing!

Wife usually puts out a pair when camped; she also has the awning lights. The lights are a PITA if it starts to rain or wind and awning has to be rolled up. "Happy wife. . . . ."

We camped fairly close to Halloween at the Formula 1 race in Austin last year. Our neighbors had zombie flamingos outside of their Bambi. They were awesome.

So years ago, before we had an Airstream, while going through Lowe’s, they had some for sale, and I bought one, stuck it in my daughter’s bedroom. Puzzled, she ended up leaving it in there until she was through high school, then gifted it back to me for our camper when she headed to college.

Funniest thing about it (aside from that she had drawn eyelashes on it), one day while we were in a campground in the Smokies, a little girl across from us would come and pet it (tried to snag a pic from inside).
