What color tow vehicle goes best with an Airstream?

Looks like you can either go color coordinated (silver) or go for an accent color on the TV. Like the Cookie Monster blue ...

But, in our family, I have to produce a signed note from my wife before the guy at the big box store will mix paint for me if DW is not along (I kid you not, he knows I have no sense of color [emoji3])

The Iridium Silver paint on my 2007 Mercedes ML320CDI that tows the 2015 23D International Serenity goes very well with the aluminum.

The burgundy red paint of my 2012 Ram 2500HD Cummins complements the 2014 Classic as well as the 2013 25FB International Serenity before it.

The operative phrase is aluminum silver complements about any color tow vehicle.

The two photos were taken about a year apart around sunset in late May at the Kindley, TX city park on the way to have more work done on that particular trailer by Paul Mayeux at A&P Vintage Trailer Works in Paradise TX.

What color tow vehicle goes best with an Airstream?

The silver Airstream is a neutral color so it really comes down to your preference only. My preference is to avoid lighter colors for TV for some contrast but that's just me. To me and the wife the white TVs look like service/commercial vehicles which translates to work instead of play.

I'm with Isbrodsky, why should you care? If you use your Airstream the way it's intended to be used, both it and your truck will end up covered in white desert dust, baby-puke tinged mountain mud, and multi-hued bug guts that will put the lie to your well-calculated color-coordination no matter what you do. It's all evidence of adventure and character. You're not auditioning for a TV spot, you know.

As other posters have noted, any color will go with aluminum, so choose your color based on all the OTHER uses to which you'll put your truck. It's only a tow vehicle when it's hitched up. The rest of the time it's just a truck.

Loaded question

Hi.

First, I am a believer of style as well as size. What KIND of TV are you going to get? SUV? Van? Pickup? Pickup with cap? Pickup with tonneau cover? Chrome? How much chrome? How large of a bed? Sometimes it's hard to 'dress up' a truck (meaning 3/4 ton and larger). These features are VERY important.

Various color TV's with a black tonneau cover will contrast. Then add chrome. And if you won't have a tonneau, the bedliner may very well be black.

Remember. The Airstream is simple style, single color. Having a TV the color of a rainbow flows against the grain of an Airstream.

We have been on the road for about 6,000 miles this year with our new TV and I cannot tell you the comments I get. From young and old, male and female. Total strangers in passing. And not even trailing. Just stand-alone travel without the trailer, people openly comment on our TV.

Any Airstreamer knows how people will complement them on their Airstream in passing. I would honestly have to say, I might get more complements on the TV than my Airstream.

Black. Black with black wall tires. Blackened windows, black bed and cover with chrome on the grill and bumpers and shiny shiny chrome six spoke wheels on 20 inch rims.

It makes that brushed aluminum POP like you wouldn't believe.

IMHO.
Be well.

Thanks! I posted this thread because of the pride that we all have in our rigs as evidenced by the beautiful photos that are coming in. My wife and I have learned that the Airstream community is extremely knowledgeable and sharing.
