What are your top 3-5 mods or additions?

Here are mine for our 2025 Trade Wind:
  1. Duxtop 1800w induction burner. We use it both inside and outside (we plug it into the external outlet and set it on a table). Heats water/food quickly and doesn't emit gas fumes. Great to use to cook rice or veggies outside while grilling (see next item).
  2. Weber Traveler Grill. It's big and takes up space in the truck bed. But worth it for us—we use it for everything from pancakes (we got the griddle attachment) to burgers to grilled corn on the cob.
  3. Blu Tech MR Water Filtration System - MR3 3-stage water filter. This filters the water coming into the trailer. We also use a travel size Berkey water filter inside of the trailer for drinking water. And I love the Blu Tech 50-ft coiled water hose! Best water system we've had.
  4. LevelMate Pro app and leveling blocks. Makes leveling so easy.
  5. Breville Bambino Plus Espresso Machine and Breville SmartGrinder Pro. These take up some space but are relatively compact. Worth it for us because we love our coffee!

A very close runner-up would be the CarGenerator. Turns your tow vehicle into a generator that can power your trailer. Quieter and less stinky/polluting than typical generators, and you get 60-80 hours with a full fuel tank.

Best mod-Oxygenic shower head. Great shower pressure and uses hardly any water.

Best addition-The little walnut step stool I got on Etsy. I am not that tall, so this makes it much more comfortable to sit at the dinette and work on my laptop or eat. We also use it to load and unload, or for stops during travel. Very stable, and very nice appearance. Mine is 8 inches tall. Etsy store is EastbrooksTreeWorks

Best purchase for interior organization: These hooks. They fit over the drawers, cabinet doors, and the wardrobe. Use for towels, wet jackets, hats, hot pads.https://www.containerstore.com/s/kit...uctId=10022153

Sorry, too hard to pick 5

1. Replaced 15" wheels and GYMs with 16" wheels and Michelins
2. Replaced axles (rubber rods had taken a set, restricting motion)
3. Converted to disc brakes
4. Added lift kit
5. Replaced flooring with vinyl plank
6. Replaced gaucho sofa with recliners
7. Rebuilt dinette - covered bases with oak veneer and rebuilt cushions

Hi

Short list:

1) Lift kit

Longer list if you started with lead acid's:

2) Convert to lithiums

Optional add on items:

3) Go to a hybrid inverter / charger.

4) Upgrade the mattresses

Other than cosmetic stuff and maintenance items ( = tires / brakes ....) , that's the full list in 7 years of ownership.

We liked the mattress in our Flying Cloud but find the one in our 2025 Trade Wind to be too hard. We added a latex topper, which helped, but it's still not as comfy as I'd like.

Who makes replacement mattresses that are the correct size? The measurements are not the same as a typical queen.

Short list:
- 8” twin mattresses from AS Supply Co, with 2” toppers. Bliss!
- 4 drawer locking built-in for closet, to store (heavy) pots and pans

Next up:
- Lift kit
- Ceramic coating
- New television

Fortunately, the previous owners did the big stuff

Our 2018 Flying Cloud had drawers underneath the bedroom wardrobe closet. Our 2025 Trade Wind has cabinets in those positions, which we find far less useful.

You mentioned a 4-drawer unit for the larger closet. Are you building that yourself or getting it somewhere? I'd like to see if I can replace these cabinets under the bedroom wardrobe with drawers.

Microwave removal

Our most useful mod was the removal of our microwave and the addition of a huge drawer. We use this drawer for pots, pans, kitchen tools, and small appliances (vintage coffee percolator and rice cooker). This mod was done by Can-Am in London, Ontario. We've been full-time since 2017 and this mod has made our galley so much more user-friendly.

A little older trailer, so a few more items than some with newer models.
1. Li Batteries--(3X100) we were able to go 11 days without power and poor suitcase solar without using a generator in Glacier in August
2. Haloview Rear view camera--I like to see what's behind me and it really helps me with backing up
3. MaxxAir Fans, with Maxx Shade on the fan over the bed
4. Ocean Shades
5. Lightweight Adhesive paper towel holder over the sink--makes the wife happy!
6. Andersen Levelers plus level bubbles on the front and by the door--being "precisely" level is underrated in my book.
7. Suitcase solar--looking to add rooftop once I can find an installer I trust
8. B/c we're a bit older-converted all the lights to LED and did a complete load study to know which lights/switches/devices use how much electricity

  1. Replace lead/acid batteries with Lithium Battery (230ah) with Progressive Dynamics Converter.
  2. Replacing the horrible stock furnace thermostat with a digital thermostat wired to control the furnace and air conditioner. See Link.
  3. Adding a Hypervent pad under the mattress to combat mold and running up the wall about 12" to block the cold air coming from the aluminum wall. The portion coming up the wall we covered with a soft fleece.
  4. Teak mat in the shower.
  5. Replacing the kitchen faucet.
  6. Adding more USB outlets and a 12V charging port (cigarette lighter style) for CPAP machine.
  7. Purchasing Solar Suitcase. Along with #1 above, we can boondock for days.

1. Level Mate Pro
2. Houghton AC
3. Dometic porcelain toilet
4. Rec Pro Range (Furion wannabe)
5. New composite flooring

Since I have had this since 2009, most of these things really needed to be replaced. The Level Mate Pro is probably my most favorite improvement.

Hi

Ours came from Airstream supply. They are a *significant* up grade over the stock mattresses.

In the van, we still play with foam toppers.

Bob
I just ordered the Caravanner mattress. I am virtually certain that will become a top 3 mod for us. Thanks for the tip.

Best Mods? Ummm...

Some minor for convenience' sake; some for safety:

1) Center brake/taillight

2) LED indicator lamps on water heater switches, outdoor lights and one for water pump by door. I can't see the one under the counter unless I stoop!

3) 3" lift kit + 16" wheels/tires

4) Progressive hardwired 50A EMS

5) Replaced all A/C registers w/plastic generics, painted to match. BIG difference in airflow!
