Transport used Airstream Motorhome ?

I live in Rhode Island and might buy a 2005 Interstate from a private party seller in Texas. Any ideas if I could a temp plate from the DMV in Tx. ?
Or has someone used a reliable transport company ? I prefer to drive it home and make a road trip.
Thanks, Ed

You can get a transit permit from the DMV. Or, ask the seller to let you borrow the plates and mail them back after you get home. We've done that several times including when we bought our 2007 Interstate from Arizona and drove it home to TN. Or, buy my 2007. I am much closer!

For driving it yourself, check with the home State authorities as they might grant a temporary tag good for X days in order for you to drive the vehicle home and complete inspection. Only possible down-side is that the home State might require that you already own the vehicle. Also, make sure to factor the possibility that the Interstate might need a tow and repairs on the road-trip home as 'life' happens.

For going the commercial hauler route, check out UShip <dot> com.
