Solution to the traveling mattress (and coverings) problem
I don't know if those who have a central queen bed (27-28' and longer models) have this problem, but our mattress would keep sliding away from the wall and overhang the end of the bed, especially after being bounced a bit on the road.
We would always be pushing it back into place with our knees given that the advantage of having a central bed in a 27-28' and longer trailer is to be able to walk around the bed (which is why we got the 28' and not the 25).
In addition, since the mattress does extend the bed by about 3", there was a tendency for the bed coverings to end up on the floor in the early hours of the morning.
To solve both problems I built a "bed stopper" (see photos) held in place with two swing arms that are held onto the bed plywood with two large cotter pins which are easy to put in and pull out. And for the bed coverings I added two "bed cover stoppers" which you can swing up if needed.
To remove the contraption and store it (if necessary but we leave it in place), you remove the two pins, and fold the arms back.
Any others have the traveling mattress problem?
