On the late model TT's with the three burner stove there is a folding stainless steel cover that you lift out of the way to cook. On the two sides of the cover the manufacture rolled the edge under so it is nice and smooth. However, on the front they just cut the metal with a shear leaving a very sharp edge underneath. A friend of ours was opening the cover on their FC19 over Memorial Weekend and sliced multiple fingers on that sharp edge.
The fix is fairly straight forward.
1) With the lid fully closed, gently pry one of the two side arms off of the support pin (see first photo). Then you can slide the cover the other direction to get it off of the other support pin.
2) Place the lid upside down on a bench with a towel underneath so as to not scratch it.
3) Take a Dremel tool with a grinding stone and remove the sharp burr on the underside of the edge.
4) Clean the fine particles out of the cover and reinstall.
All in all it takes about 5 minutes, costs nothing, and could save someone from a painful cut.
