Oh goodness, JNM30327- have you ever seen the shell of an Airstream that has burned? Please. please discontinue this practice. If it keeps the alarm from working while cooking, it will stop it in case of a real need. It's worth your lives to take the time to disable it only while cooking and the rest of the time make it operative!

It is simple to move the location of the detector to a location in the trailer that would still detect a fire but not trigger every time you use the stove. Smoke rises and the trailer ceiling is going to catch it all. I moved mine forward, which is even more important because all of my electrical is now under the bed.
You can just install rivets in the empty holes near the galley and it looks like nothing was ever disturbed.

My pet peeve is people that park their Airstreams at home in their driveways and are not on the road enjoying the country.

Just like me right now. I'm in my driveway right now!

But that will change in one week!

I do a lot of that with my dogs.
When mama decides to clean house out we go.
What a wonderfull doghouse a 30' Classic makes :-).
The truth is I enjoy spending time in it no matter where it is parked.
