We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new Flying Cloud 27' to Airstream of Tampa. Have any of you stayed the night at that dealer the first night after purchase? Do they have full hook-ups available both for comfort and to test the systems like AC, water pump, hot water, etc?
Hello, I'm not sure if you can stay right at the dealer, or if they have hookups. When we picked up our AS there we camped at a commercial campground just across from the dealer on the north side of I-4 for the first night. I think there's a few campgrounds within a couple miles of the dealer. By the time we went to bed the first night we had a list of things we thought we had to take the camper back to the dealer for. But by the time we finished our coffee the next morning we had figured them all out ourselves! Good Luck!
They have a couple of parking spaces with electric and I think water. They are behind the Airstream building away from the interstate. I do not recall sewer, but they probably have a dump station at least.
We stayed the first night and they were very good about taking care of the few problems we had. I highly recommend you do that. Once you are away you will likely end up in the appointment queue and that would delay resolution and add frustration.
We found all aspects of the transaction to be professional and a genuine interest in having you leave satisfied. Let them know in advance that you will want to stay over so they can move units around and have a site available.
We purchased our GT27 from them last November. We pre-arranged to stay the night to test the systems and install the ProPride hitch. (They will not install the Propride) Electric and water were available. Then spent 4 nights at an RV that is very close by and had pre-arranged a day for any warranty work after our last night at the RV park. Did not need the "warranty" day. We did need to have one item fixed. The tech showed me how and I did it on my own while still in the RV park.

We stayed overnight at Airstream of Tampa recently when we picked up our FC30. They filled our tanks with water and we parked in one of several spots they have out back that are set up with 30-amp hookups. We had arranged to do this previously so they knew we were staying. The next morning we pointed out a few minor items that needed to be addressed and their service techs quickly came out and took care of them for us. We needed to get back to Michigan and couldn't stay in the area longer. We have since found a couple of more things needing to be done, so if you can stay in the area an extra couple of days before you leave town, that's what I would recommend doing since your first few days of ownership seem to get you "front of the line" status for repairs.
If you can't stay there, just south on the same road about 1/2 mile is a large Encore RV park. Also just up I-4 a few miles (towards Tampa) is Lazy Days RV. They have a rally park with beautiful sites and full hookups.
i suggest you make a reservation at the Lazy Days RV campground 10 minutes west on the freeway. MUCH nicer accommodations and close enough so you can return in the morning for any last minute hickups. This is what we did.
