Outdoor Kitchen

Looking for ideas on an outdoor kitchen. Easy pieces to throw in the back of the truck and quick set-up... Pictures or suggestions would be great!

If you have electric power available, consider an induction burner (or two.) People we know with one love it. We will be getting one once we get back home.

We use this.
http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-200001...=coleman+grill
Cook burgers, steaks etc for dinner and switch out the inserts to griddle and stove grate for breakfast.

That's a good idea too. We're thinking about toaster oven, Coleman grill, an induction burner. Not sure what else. We love our airstream but would rather cook outside...

We just started using a Volcano charcoal grill which is great on its own (get the Kevlar cover too) and even better as a base for a Dutch oven. We won't be taking the propane grill with us this season!

When camping with the grands, we did all cooking outside.

One of the things I found helpful was a thingy that had an upright pole with a couple of arms/hooks, attached to the table, and held a roll of paper towels and primary cooking utensils.

Kept things neat and tidy, and off the table.

Have fun!

If you get a chance try to stop by a Coleman Outlet. You can go broke saving money in one.

Probably haven't used the stream enough but we haven't ran across a Coleman outlet! My checkbook is glad!

How do you attach party lights to an Airstream awning. I bought the little Camco holders,

Camco Fits-All PartyLight Holders, 7 Pack

$4.97

5.0 stars (2) ratings
See all in RV Accessories

but my Airstream awning has no "groove" for these holders to clip into. When fully extended, the awning's core or end rail is covered with fabric.

With pinch clamps? Maybe just from an office supply store like Staples?

I wonder if what you're imagining, is what's called a chuck box.

If you'd like to see some really beautiful interpretations, google image “chuck box”.

They are very much akin to what is built into the back of a modern teardrop trailer, or an old chuckwagon, yet smaller and portable.

It'd be a really fun and handy gizmo to set up.

Our needs are small. We have flexible outdoor cooking options including a little gas cook-top that plugs in to the trailer outside, a tiny hibachi, a Dutch oven, and a single burner electric hot-plate.

We set up a screen enclosure over the available picnic table for bug free cooking and eating. It's right outside the AS awning so I can cook in the rain and not get wet going back and forth. The table gets a vinyl tablecloth and we have Walmart cushions for the seats.

I have a Coleman 3-burner camp stove (Coleman fuel) I got off of eBay for a song. I just set it up on the end of the table. I run an extension cord under the mat and into the enclosure for the radio, laptop etc. Outside I have a Weber Smokey Joe grill. (I need to get some kind of stand for that.)

Ditto what Cottonboll says. The Camp Chef one- or two-burner stoves pack up small and put out an impressive amount of BTUs. Accessorize with a griddle to match and you've got the perfect campout cooktop for a group. I see Cabela's has a sale on Camp Chefs and accessories.

I sometimes use my 2 burner Coleman propane stove outside but for griddle cooking its useless. The two burners are too far apart and the griddle doesn't heat evenly, hot on the ends and cooler in the middle. Should've got a 3 burner model for griddle cooking.
