I love the Aluminum emblem. They normally come on the sides of the canoes, I special ordered them on the front bulkhead. Normally, the Kayaks come with a sticker logo on the sides. I will add the after I polish.

One of my coworkers has some short plastic Kayaks, and stated they waddle in the water, and don't track real straight. It will be interesting to see how these do.
Thanks, I did not realize the riveted emblem was an option, I like it.

With that chine/ rudder , they should track very well. Great looking and interesting design. I like the design compared to a sit on or sit in kayak. Will keep dry especially in cold water.

We took them out yesterday, they seemed great in the water. Very smooth glide, not to much wiggle in the water, and tracked straight. They weigh about 50 lbs, so I was able load them easily by my self. Very happy so far.

Excellant, glad to hear of your first experience. Bet you got (or will get) some strange looks from folks in their plastic kayaks. How do you think the aluminum is going to handle the heat? Also how are the seats working out?

Osagian aluminum kayak

The seat seemed fine to me, but my wife said she wanted a cushion.

I doubt the Kayak it self will be effected by the FL sun, the seat and foot rests may over time. The rest of the Kayak is all aluminum.

Like an aluminum canoe, I'm sure they would get warm in the direct summer sun, but that heat dissipates once your in the water.

I have replaced the OEM seat in my current kayak with a 6-point adjustable gel seat. Very comfortable and offers the best back support I have had in a kayak.
The seat in the Osagian looks fixed and not adjustable in photos.
I suppose could easily glue in a couple of closed cell foam pieces in the seat and back if necessary.

Available from Amazon, Aosom Padded Kayak Seat and Backrest - Black

Yes, it's fixed in place. I'll look up the seat and back rests.

I'm contemplating is polishing would fall under a addiction or compulsion?

Just remember polishing is not a one time thing. A plus is that the kayak is small and should not be that hard to keep looking good once polished.

You can save a lot of money by helping me polish my 1976 Ambassador. Polishing an Airstream is excellent therapy for OCD and I will not charge anyone a cent for the theraputic sessions.

Did the metal appear to have any kind of clear coat?

Nope, it appeared to just mill finish, with the mill oil on it.

All metal is subject to salt water. Even Stainless Steel.

Filiform is a worm like pattern under the clear coat. These kayaks did not have a clear coat on them.

They are Aluminum, so if your using them in salt water, it would be best to rise them off with fresh water.
