Officially Registered Plaque - Location?

Hi all, I just realized I never mounted my AS registration plaque/decal -- found it in a galley drawer during the spring cleaning....

Is there a "common" place most folks mount this? Inside? Outside? Door? Body? etc...

I realize it's probably a personal preference (like the red numbers), but I'd like to get ideas from you.

Thanks! Stay safe.

It is a personal preference. Airstream interior designs changed a bit over the decades. In our 55 we have the magazine rack as you step through the door. We mounted our medallion on the front of that. It keeps it out of the weather.

I plan to mount mine outside, next to the 75th anniversary medallion by the door.

I’ll be drilling it and using two blind rivets plus the VHB tape it came with.

I would just use the tape and not drill into the skin. The VHB tape is used to attach solar panels to the roof, I think it can hold a disk. I just used the same tape to mount a Cell booster antenna to the roof of my trailer.

VeloBuckeye -

How long did it take for yours to arrive? We applied for one in October, but it still hasn't shown up. I wouldn't have thought it would take much longer than a few weeks, but maybe there's more to the fabrication than I would have imagined.

djb75,

I believe I registered it last October and it took about 2 months to arrive. I actually forgot about it, then it arrived before the holidays.

Mine is a work in progress but the plan is to replace the table in the 26U with a 24" round wood table and that emblem will be dead center recessed. Then everything will be coated with polyurethane finish. I already did one test, and didn't like the stain so I'm starting over. I considered reclaimed wood, but rejected that on cost. Currently, I'm using a 24" round from Lowe's.
I have the base and leg from Cascade Depot.

I see Airstream recommends they go inside.

Currently not taking registrations, due to COVID-19 work reductions.

We have a front entry 23D. Ours is mounted inside the door above the light switches and battery disconnect.
