New Airstreamers

My Wife and I and of course our Bullmastiff (Sarah-Rose) pickup our 2012 Flying Cloud 20ft the week of 23 September. This is a whole new world to us we’ve been Harley riders for a number of years and decided it’s time to hang-up the leather and start a new adventure. We had a small MPG travel trailer for the past year and enjoyed the whole camping thing so much that we decided to move up to an Airstream. A little bit about us, we currently live in Boise, ID are from NC where we still have a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mtn’s South East of Ashville, NC. The plan is to stay in Boise for a couple more years and visit as many Parks as possible in our Flying Cloud. Hope to meet a few of you out there on the road.

Welcome to the family

Welcome and glad you found the Air Forums. I can not tell you how helpful it has been to our experience. There is lots to learn and many folks who will help along the way. While a 2012 will not have the same issues that our '92 had, there will be questions non the less.

We will keep an eye out for you when you decide to bring that shinny aluminum to the Asheville area.
Congratulations on your new adventure.

Fmacmaster,
Congratulations on your new rig, happy streamin. By the way, you don't have to hang up the leather. I still do both (screamin eagle and Air streamin) with minimum conflict. Hope we cross part during our biannual Blue Ridge mountain camping and biking.

Great to see follow bikers now dressed in aluminum. We have up our Gold Wing for the Silver Otter and are having a great time. This forum is awesome for the guidance and information I've gleaned from veteran 'streamers on here. Welcome Home!

Welcome

We are also new owners of an AS as well. We just purchased a 2013 16' Sport and plan on our first outing to Yosemite in October.

We travel with our two rough coat Collies Jack and Rose which I think would equal one Bull Mastiff.

Hi! Another new airstreamer here. We took delivery of our 2012 Flying Cloud 25fb last weekend and are headed to the Sleeping Bear Dunes area of MI for the next week. We purchased our rig at Nature and Me RV in Traverse City. Great people to do business with. Rose and Larry are super and extremely helpful. Our first big road trip will be to the Airstream plant, just for grins, and then on into Indiana and back into southern MI the week of October 8. I wrote airstream about camping in that area and was surprised to get a call from the factory about possibilities. Any ideas you folks would care to share will be much appreciated. John & Betsy

There are free full hook ups at the Airstream plant. (teraport) I like John Byron State park. It's about 40 minutes from the plant. Just unhook and drive over. Then come back and enjoy the free full hook ups.

Welcome to the Forum,

Wish the best of luck with your new Airstream. I also just got a new 2012 Flying Cloud 20 - moving up from a 16 footer.

Hope you enjoy the new trailer. I have done some mods on mine already - solar system, insulation, etc. Let me know if you are interested in any.

Good Luck,

Welcome to the Forums!

Congrats on your new Airstream. You don't need to give up riding, many folks here on the forums ride, sail, or have some other hobby. I hope that you keep doing both.

Best wishes for many many wonderful adventures in your new Airstream!

See you on the road,
Rion

Very sorry to hear that you lost your wife, and now have to sell off your wonderful trailer, ATODARO.

You will find the Classified Ads at this address:

- Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale

You will use the same user name and password that you use to get on here, Airforums.

Note: even though you are logged in to Airforums, you will very likely have to log in again when you go to - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale

Please, don't hesitate to ask for help if you run into difficulty there. It isn't the same software as you may be used to here.

I look forward to your ad and the multiple pictures you will hopefully post with it.

Again, please ask for help if you need it?

Best regards,

Aage Johansen

Hey Bill,
We had planned on adding a Solar system to our 20ft Flying Cloud. Seems the dealer setup is a little pricy. So we may hold off for now. Unless you have a better recommendation? We are also thinking we may go with a portable Solar system. http://shop.rvsolarnow.com/80-watt-p...-Airstream.htm Enjoy your new Airstream.
Thanks Frank

Welcome aboard! My wife and I are also new owners from Portland, Or. We're taking our 25' Classic out for the second time tomorrow- a week at the coast.

The nice thing about the Bull Mastiff is you won't have to buy any security measures- just tie her to the tongue! Been thinking about that myself.

Perfect; you will love it. Great for the two of us and a small dog as well. Solar makes the most sense if you have adequate clear view of the sun and battery storage to justify the cost; otherwise, suggest look at an inverter generator.
