New Airstream - First Trailer

Well I picked up my new Airstream Classic 30 2019 in Gulf Port Mississippi last week. This is my first AS and first trailer. Just sold my 2017 Foretravel IH Coach (that is another story. What a disaster that was) and purchased the AS. Was looking for quality and less head aches. Pulled it out to St George Utah with my RAM 2500 with a Blue Ox 1500 lb hitch. What a pleasure to pull. Even in the cross wind in Texas it pulled like a dream. Couldn’t be more happy. Read a lot of this forums threads before I purchased it and feel I made the right decision. Will spend the winter in St George and then to Montana next summer. Hope to meet some fellow AS owners along the way. Click image for larger version

Welcome to Air Forums. You know your way around the forum already but it's the right place for all things Airstream.

Consider joining Wally Byam Airstream Club, WBAC (also known as Wally Byam Caravan Club International, WBCCI). There are lots of things to do with your Airstream and the club offers many possibilities. If you do join the club, consider attending the International Rally which will be held in Loveland, CO in June 2020. Where else can you see 600+ Airstreams gleaming in the sun?! Sounds like you'll already be in the area so Loveland might fit into your schedule.

Best wishes and see ya down the road.

Glad to hear you are happy! I hope you had a nice time in the New Orleans, Slidell, Gulfport area. I find that dealer to be great! I too am quite happy with my Ram 2500, Blue Ox (1000lb) and my 25' International. You are quite right that side winds are no match for this configuration.

Consider joining many of us in Loveland, CO for the Airstream International Rally from 20-27 June. As a new AS owner, you're at the perfect point to do a rally and the internationals are great. - You'll learn so much at the workshops and get to socialize and make friends that will help you tremendously down the road.

Welcome! #9164

Just keep in mind, these are handbuilt. I hope you don't experience anything that was done on a Friday afternoon.

So glad you are having a terrific experiencing with your new A/S. My A/S after owning 13 Silver Bullets and 2 A/S MH's was not that good. Although I never purchased a new A/S I found I was always chasing some type of problem that was related to inferior construction like mold from leaks, window fog or inferior mattress, etc. From those 13 A/S I went to a 2003 Foretravel 295 and was amazed at the quality & performance many levels above any of my A/S from 19' to a 34' limited. So, best of luck with your new A/S as I hope it brings many years of problem free travels.

Happy Camping. Be prepared for some fixing. You will find there will be bugs in the new AS. Don't let it "bug" you however. We've all gone through them with new ASs. Enjoy the ride.

Congratulations! We picked up our new 25 Flying Cloud last May and have enjoyed smooth sailing ever since! I seem to learn something new every trip, but it has been a pleasure.
Be safe!

Welcome to the Forums! You've chosen a GREAT rig, and I hope you enjoy it for many miles! Don't worry about anything you discover that isn't quite right; you've got a terrific warranty and a lot of resources to make things the way you want them. Hope to see you in Montana next year!

Polson, congratulations on your new Airstream and welcome to the AS Community!

There’s something about a Delmonico Red RAM in front of a shiny silver Airstream... We have the same combination albeit a 27’ Globetrotter, not a Classic.

If you come to the International Rally in Loveland we could park the twins next to each other!

Good luck and enjoy your beautiful setup.

Thanks everyone for your great support. I definitely will be joining WBAC and will consider the Loveland trip depending where we are. If any of you are passing St George area stop by to say hello. We are staying at Southern Utah RV Resort outside of St George. A brand new park but a little pricey for the area. We will be at Flathead Lake RV Resort in Polson Montana this summer. Would love to meet part of the family. Photo of Xmas at Glacier hopefully attached.

Joining the Herd

Great to see another 1st time ASer and trailer puller. I'm joining the club on Friday. Picking up in Springfield, MO and driving to ATX for a week to ditch the crummy weather. If anyone's got some great places to stay in ATX I'm all ears. Looking forward to hearing about your travels.

Congratulations and welcome to the Airstream community. please do share the any RV resort you stay in St. George Utah . It was one of our favorite places to visit. Hope you’re able to go to the international rally in Loveland Colorado this June. God Bless !
