New Airstream

I bought a new Airstream today. 1985 Excella 31 mid bath. needs a good cleaning, a screw here and there, tv antena, but in great shape. I sold my 1969 two years ago, finally have another one! We are really excited!

Question, why is there a switch so you can only use AC or microwave? Looks original, but why. Is it original?

Very cool! Those are great looking trailers! Do you know if it's an early '85 or a late '85? They changed the frames that year...made them deeper. That had the effect of just about getting rid of Sag and Separation.

I had a '77 31 footer. Beautiful trailer but it had both Sag and Separation. To me, it needed a new frame. I wound up selling it because I didn't have the time, at that point in time, to fabricate a new frame and transfer the shell. The couple that bought it had a smaller Airstream that was ready to go and wanted a big one to fix up. The shell was very nice on it.

I would guess this was added when connected to shore power where the breaker was something less than 30 amp such as a 15 amp or 20 amp breaker. Just a guess.

Another question, where would the spare have been mounted originaly?
