mounted bike rack

I presently have a 2014 Silverado and tow a 19 ft Flying cloud. I keep two bikes with the front tires removed inside the enclosed bed cap on the truck. I am not happy with this arrangment as its a pia to get them out
I don't want an expensive carrier for the back of the airstream. I am thinking of a front mounted hitch for my Thule carrier. Any thoughts? What do you others have for creative thoughts? Forget the roof also. Thanks

We have four bikes and we keep them under the cap in the truck bed. It is a PIA to get them out (although it is easier with the Bed Slide http://www.bedslide.com/) We thought of the front hitch but then the bikes would be the unlucky recipient of all the bugs we ran into on the road (ugh!) So we went with the bed slide in the back of the truck and the cap.

I carry ours inside the AS on a quick release fork mount bike stand that I built. So far they don't move around and it only takes a couple minutes to move them in and out. In our 25' we can still get to everything but the lounge with them in place.

Good thread. I've got a specific truck cap question. My bicycle is tall. The saddle height (ctr of crank bolt) to center top of saddle (measured as a line parallel to the seat tube is 88.5 cm. Yes I play basketball With that out of the way my question is I'm looking for AS folks who have a Truck cap and a tall bicycle.

Current setup is to lay the bikes down under the tonneau with padding which is not ideal.
If I can not find a good solution using a cap we might go the Van route.

I saw this yesterday in camp and thought of you. An alternative.
