Separate dinette

We’ve owned the Classic 33 and 2 Flying Cloud 28s (currently 2023 FC 28). We like having a dinette but hate the L-couch. We removed the front couch and replaced with recliners that only need 1/4” rear clearance to extend. Love it.

They are both good layouts. We spent a lot of time at the dealer, on more than one visit, hanging out in each. Almost every time we went from one, back to the other, we would notice something different. I agree, the foam density sucks, and many have changed foam to correct. In our model, the foam was not specific to the trailer length. Can't speak to the other trim levels.

in my 27FBT international we drop the table and position the cushions and pillows to create a very large and comfortable lounging area for watching movies with the whole family

I have had a 27’ FC and a 30 Classic. I appreciated the separate couch and dinette. The couch was good for lounging, watching TV, etc. The dinette was more convenient for eating, working, writing, web surfing, etc. The dinette in the 27 (like many Airstreams) was a bit rickety, but OK for eating, etc.; but no real place to lounge comfortably or watch TV. If we had had the 28, we would probably not have traded up to the 30 when we went full time. The couch on the Classic is more comfortable than the L-shaped lounge in the 28, but not by much. Good luck. Good choices either way.

We love the L couch, but we are a fam of four and a dog; not sure what this new dog did to get her momma to let her on the furniture the other three was a hard no.
It’s also my youngest’s bed. I like the side seat best and can sit there even when he is still snoozing.

Doing a lot of winter camping is when the separate spaces is really appreciated. In the summer we didn’t mind not having a dinette because we were always eat outside with our other camping fam and friends.
