Insurance time of year again

I know this has been discussed several times, but I am doing my due diligence this year.
I have been shopping for agreed value insurance, and I have found quotes are all over the board. A high of $1,400 ($250 deductible) for $50,000 agreed value to a low of $337 ($500 deductible).

Blue Sky came in lowest, but I haven't seen the actual policy yet. They are about half the cost of my present policy ($250 deductible).

I know some of you folks have commented that you have Blue Sky. What can you tell me about their coverage and are you happy with them? Anyone had a claim with them?

Sorry. Don't know anything about Blue Sky first hand. Did you get a quote from FCIS?

No TOP, I had never heard of them. I will check. Do you have experience with them?

They are in Forrest City, IA. They advertise in the Blue Beret and are supporters of the WBCCI. I got a quote from them for an agreed value policy (26k) that was half, ($400/yr), of what I was paying with Progressive. I've yet to finalize the policy. Since I have a vintage trailer, I had to send pics and an appraisal that I got from Polk and Associates. Luckily, I don't have any claims experience to report, and hope I never do.

Thanks to Lance, I found that FCIS really has the product I want. They cost about 50% more than Blue Sky, but they have TRUE agreed value THAT NEVER DEPRECIATES from the initial agreed value as long as you keep the policy and the AS!!!!!!

They accepted my Dealer's appraisal as validation of the current value including all my upgrades. If I ever add a high value item, such as solar, I submit receipts and the value goes up from today's agreed value.

I brought my scooter over to them for some additional discounts.

Another thing on the list for me to learn. DoeS the agent used for auto/boats not cover travel trailers or are you just looking for something specific?

I had a large hail claim (6 panels) with them and they were great! A check to me and I was able to choose who did the repairs. I only had the policy with them for 8 months and premium only went up $30 per year.

Hartford quoted us tonight $516/year on a 2014 Flying Cloud 27FB. We have another trailer and 2 other vehicles with them.

I was looking for something specific. Agreed value that wouldn't depreciate by the book formula.

We have FCIS for our vintage and while they gave us a great price , the premium went up 27% after the first year. When I ask them why, they said every year your policy will go up on your birthday, AND because there were so many claims in our region the policy was also increased.
We will wait until our next birth date to see if there is another increase, and if so how much.

I figured there would be increases, in order to keep the high value, in place. I did note that a lot of my insurances went up anyway.....allegedly due to a lot of storm damage in the midwest over the last couple years. Homeowners and some of the cars went up last year, as well as my renewals that just came in the mail.

Insurance

We just bought our first Airstream three weeks ago and arranged insurance. We have Preferred Mutual in Massachusetts, $20,000 value, $500 deductible, and the cost is $111/year. We have two cars and our house also with teh company and are getting discounts for that.
