So I feel like every time we use our Airstream we find “one more thing” that we think will make life better.
Of course there is the initial purchase of your perfect Airstream, which we accept the expense knowing its not Just another white box, but the list of “add ons” has gotten...well...expensive and we accept there is nobody to blame but us.
When we purchase our lightly used, climate controlled Classic it already had some nice extras:
Equalizer hitch
Teak shower mat
2 extra XL zip Dee chairs
Upgraded mattresses
Double sets of AS sheets, mattress pads, mattress topper
A basket full of chemicals, cleaners, fresheners
Professional First Aid kit
Then we went and changed or add the following options:
ProPride Hitch
New Lifeline batteries
2- MicroAir Soft Starters
Progressive Industries Hardwired EMS system 50AMP
Levelmate Pro
Anderson Levelers
Honda 7000 generator
36 gallon sewer tote
Dometic soft close wooden toilet seat
Fantastic Fan cover
Zero G hose
Oxygenics Fury Hand held shower sprayer
Pizza stone for gas oven (improved heat dissipation)
Lots and lots of Command strips, baskets, rugs, storage containers, etc.
The point is you can go as bare bones as you want or spend your way into the price of new, bigger, better rig. We hope the upgrades prove to be worthy of the expense. So far I am getting more comfortable and happy with our purchase and choice of upgrades.
This past weekend we boondocked in 97 degrees for three days. The generator made great power, kept us cool with the two AC’s. We even have begun to figure out the open windows and cross breezes...listened to the whippoorwills all night long.
My point...its yours. Customize it, use it and enjoy the journey!
