Space "A" as in military retired travel availability. Dual meaning Airstream.

I call mine "Homestead". Maybe it's special because I'm a full timer but I was sitting on the couch one day and it just popped in my head: 'yeah. This is my mobile homestead'.

My Airstream Interstate is "Kaiser" because:
Before it was an Airstream, it was a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van built in Dusseldorf, Germany, so a German name seemed appropriate;
Kaiser means Emperor or King, and when I drive my Airstream I feel like the king of the road;
Kaiser Aluminum is a well-respected manufacturer of aluminum so even though Kaiser is made of fine German steel on the outside the name shows solidarity with his aluminum trailer brethren;
And because he has wheels, Kaiser rolls!

My Honda Fit toad was built in Saitama, Japan, so in keeping with the theme, he became "Mikado" after both the Japanese word for Emperor and the Gilbert & Sullivan comic opera.

Yes, both names are terribly pretentious, but used for comic effect since I am congenitally incapable of taking myself seriously.

When registering a name, does the system lock your name in as an exclusive, or are there a hundred trailers named "silver bullet" running around?

The Airstream 'virtual caravan' site does not seem to do any checking of anything...its just a cool way to get a custom engraved label for your AS with your VIN on it, and the name.

Be double sure ALL the data is correct, because I have no idea if the site can fix an error...

Then the next challenge, when it arrives, will be where to mount the label.

Thanks. Our first challenge seems to be getting husband and wife to agree on a floor plan....where to put the emblem should be easy.

Spend a lot of time looking at real airstream examples. Paper plans do not really give the feel and utility of an AS. Sit in it, lay on the bed, simulate using the kitchen and bath, etc. Our 23' International is good for two, but crowded with three adults and the usual small pack of smallish dogs...

Trailer names

Our last name is Tubman - so we named our Airstream Classic 30 - "TUBBOAT"

Our trailer is "R Shack"
I had options on Radio Shack Corp just before we bought our original trailer and they paid for the trailer. Thought that was the least I could do.

Wink A name is a name

We haven't officially named our AS but have referred to it as "The Silver Sausage" on occasion. We bring 1 pound packs of Jimmy Sausage when camping and thought they kinda look like the shape of an Airstream.

My 77 Argosy MH is ancient and resembles a 1930's storybook space ship, so i call it 'Time Traveler'. The name is printed just under the windshield and written in reverse ambulance style.

I wish I'd taken a picture but... When DW and I camped around the town square in Quanah, TX ( Bill Price of the Plains Unit hosted) it was near Halloween.... so on a table outside our little Bambi we'd taken Hershey's Miniature Dark Chocolates (which had only the aluminum foil...no paper wrap) and, using a Pilot-Pen drew wheels and windows onto the candy. Passers-by could help themselves to what appeared to be little candy-Airstreams.

Her name:

Her name is "Banana Wind", the title of a pleasant Jimmy Buffett instrumental. She is in full re-mod mode at the moment. When we retire, and set sail full time (and if Jimmy hasn't retired) we hope to make several shows around the country each year - and enjoy the big tailgate parties.
