Even though I did make up a name (The Baked Potato) and register it on the official name registry we still call it "the trailer" or "the camper".

We named ours Dora after Dora the Explorer. We were supposed to go exploring all over the US, that was the plan. I even got some Dora stickers for the door and backside. About half the time we call her Dora and the rest of the time we call it the Airstream.

I did name my boat, which is bright red. Our group is deep into Monty Python and we all got Knight (or ka-NIG-it) names. Mine is King so naturally the boat had to be the Watery Tart. Now THAT NAME has stuck.

All of our Airstreams have been named Lucy. As I recall, the original Lucy was named in honor of Lucille Ball for her memorable performance in the movie,
The Long Long Trailer (1954). Lucy's misadventures involving a travel trailer beckoned us to try our own cross country adventures. We did, and the rest is history.

We are now on our third Lucy, and have no intention of stopping. We also name our tow vehicles. Lucy's current travel partners are Olivia and Fred.

Having kids and they all love to trout fish, they liked the name trutta, the latin for brown trout is Salmo trutta. The 6 year old said that the AS was too chubby to be a trout, so the 12 and 17 year olds came up with a term for chubby tout, Trutta Hudda, so that is its name now The Trutta Hudda

Glimmer, cause she travels behind Bimmer.

We do not usually name vehicles, unless it's a boat. Brother does, sister does, but not us. Now we do. That's what smiles do for you. Pat

I call our Bambi the "Lil' Puppy".

Because it followed us home. Also from this funny scene from the TV show Parks and Rec.

I'm just a little puppy.

I named my 35 footer, "Space A", in deference to free military retiree travel on space available basis. As the name implies the space is Airstream's largest trailer because it has slide.

How we named ours...

Years before we ever got a trailer, we bought a small goat made out of tin. We just liked him. Put him in our garden, what have you. When we bought the trailer, it jus felt obvious to us that we should dub it the Tin Goat and bring along our tin goat as our mascot. The picture below is on our maiden voyage when someone at the campground apparently felt the tin goat should celebrate.

As a side note, we bought the tow vehicle before the trailer and knew its purpose was to tow our trailer. So we call the truck the Freedom Machine - towing with it speaks to our freedom when we retire someday and the feeling of freedom we get from camping.

Thoroughly unnecessary but fun for us personally. Your mileage may vary....

Ive always liked the "life is good" brand and it usually has a Daisy next to it. I put a life is good sticker on the back window and a Daisy sticker on the front window and just started calling her "Daisy"

It was eventually an easy choice

When I bought mine the former owner gave me the name. I forget what they called it. My father was at Pearl Harbor and was a survivor and growing up as an Air Force brat I have a love affair with WWII aircraft and their nose art. It hit me one day that my love of the Airstream was closely aligned with those aircraft so it was appropriate to give it the following name:Click image for larger version

What a fun thread this is! For those of you who didn't or won't name your trailer, I don't call mine by name. But its unofficial name comes from a friend who is into mid-century modern (and has been since the mid-century when he was born). He named it "Flash" for Flash Gordon. Now if you remember Flash Gordon...you have a lot of time now to tool around in your Airstream!

Alice and Ralph

We named our Flying Cloud 25FB Alice and our 2016 Ram Ecodiesel TV Ralph as in Ralph and Alice Kramden from the 1950's show the Honeymooners because the airstream reminded us of this era of time.

Our company is Peabrain Adventures, we are the Peabrains, so the Airstream is Pod.

Our '66 Tradewind was previously owned by a guy who had bought it five years before, meaning to restore it. Unfortunately, he came down with cancer and passed away. His son-in-law, a friend of ours, was handling the sale for his mother-in-law. As we were pulling away, she stood there wiping a tear from her eye. When I asked the son-in-law what his father-in-law's name was, he said it was Hal. So we naturally named our Airstream Hal.

"Silver Mistress"

"Silver" for the obvious reason

"Mistress" She's pretty to look at, high maintenance, I tend to spend a lot of money on her, drives me crazy at times, but have had wonderful experiences with her.
