First trip altered by a hurricane
We have/had a trip planned from Louisville to Jacksonville with an overnight near Spartanburg then back to western NC and then home again, starting Friday.
Yeah, we're not towing a trailer Friday or Saturday from through Kentucky/Tennessee/North Carolina with the projected track of Helene. It is projected to come straight through Louisville which means the heavy wind/rain will be to the east which is where we would be driving.
I canceled our KOA overnight in SC for Friday. I'm now trying to decide what to do with the rest of the trip. Getting to Jax is 2 days and back is 2 days of travel, so that would eat up half of our time off plus cut our time in Jax and NC.
I'm leaning toward skipping Jacksonville completely and hitting Pigeon Forge (for 2 days at Dollywood primarily) then moving over to NC for our reservation there.
Is anyone else having to alter their plans? This will be our first trip altered by weather and I'm sure not the last.
