First outing cut short by Covid

So our first outing with our new 30’ Globetrotter was going great. A shakedown cruise at Ft Wilderness. We go there often enough that we don’t care if we go to any of the parks. My daughter goes to the pool, we just walk the loops and check out other peoples rigs ( always lots of airstreams) the weather was great. Got to sleep with all those giant windows open. Got there Friday, planned on leaving Monday. But the wife had gotten exposed to the big C, and even though we’re both vaccinated she started getting a cough. We had our Biden test kits with us because we had a sneaking suspicion we might need them. Today was day 5 after her possible exposure so she took one of the tests and it came back positive. I feel fine, but now I’ve got a slight sore throat and just feel a bit off. She decided to go home (we live 45 min away) and I decided to pack it in and leave because if I ended up getting sick, I had no idea how bad it might get and I’d rather not be hauling the trailer around when I’m not 100%.

I’m sure we’ll both be fine, but this damn pandemic is not done yet.

Hopefully you will both be fine. We have several friends who recently had it and, while they were both sick, it was nothing nearly as bad as it could have been had they not been vaccinated..

Best wishes and take care!

So sorry to hear you guys are sick but made it home okay. The good news is your new GT will be waiting for the next adventure when you are better.

My son just texted me minutes ago saying he felt sick at work and came home early. Took a rapid test and it came back positive. He’s locked in their guest bedroom because his wife had a baby two weeks ago. So far she’s negative. You’re right about the pandemic - it’s still out there.

Take care and get better!

Sorry to hear this but hopefully you are on the mend. I had Covid before jabs were available and my DH moved into the Overlander for 2 weeks to avoid infection. Handy way to handle quarantine

Hope the detour is brief and the recovery swift. If today at our house is any indicator - maybe it is all the stress of the first trip and wondering what might be forgotten that depresses the immune system! Yikes! You'd think it was our first trip ever.
