Favorite Camping Spot
The other day a member created a great thread about things we love about our Airstreams & the AS Lifestyle. In keeping with the theme of positive threads and positive conversation, lets keep it going by posting favorite places we have been in our Airstreams. This makes for great reading and also helps some of us newer Streamers with trip ideas, and gets us all excited about upcoming Spring season!
Rules:
1. Please state specific campground, RV park, State Park , National Park or Boondocking site and then the city, state etc.
2. I know many of you probably have many favorites but lets try to keep this to your top 3 spots.
3. Briefly state what about the spot you love.
4. Include pics if you like
5. Be positive! Please no rants about what broke on your Airtsream while you were at these places or your rowdy neighbor on the site next door.
Ready, set, go!

Hmmm...
My concern about posting specifics of favorite sites on a public forum would be that they would quickly become overrun and inaccessible.
I will state, generally, that my favorite spots are near water of some sort...ocean, lake, rushing river or creek.
Spots are reasonably level, people smile and say hello, camp hosts are friendly.
Maggie

Well....
I agree with Maggie.
Kind of like asking a Fisherman for the location of their favorite "honey hole" where they fish.

There are a couple excellent threads already with camping spots. I think the title of one is something like "View from your door" and the other is just "Campsites". Both are picture heavy, many many pages long already, and accomplish the same goal you have for this thread.
Edit: Found them, linked below. They are very popular and appear at the top of the page almost every day.

Your first link is for the Campsite Pics thread, which is exactly for that purpose.
The second link, however, is specifically for "the view when you open the door," and is not intended as a place to post campsite photos IMO:
The first post there:

Most of the photos are indeed actual views looking through the open main door. It is refreshing to scroll through the hundreds of photos there, to compare all the similarly-posed views IMO.

Well the intent was not to ‘steal’ anyone’s favorite spot or to duplicate any existing threads. Rather it was intended just to spark positive, relevant, conversation and get folks excited about camping again. Oh well, guess I’ll go back to reading current threads about broken refrigerators and folks bashing each other about their tow vehicles.
FYI - with all of the folks doing Travel Channels on You Tube, blogs, etc about RV travel these days, plus apps like Campendium where everyone posts reviews, comments, etc, I really don’t think there are many public campsites that will be ‘hidden’ from the public eye anymore.

Be Glad to.
Like I previously mentioned, I'm new to Airstreams, we just got ours in November so have yet to make any real trips yet but did camp years ago in a 5th wheel, so based on places that I have actually been:
1. Fort Wilderness/Disney
2. Unicoi State Park- Helen, GA
3. River Vista RV park - Dillard, GA
Thanks Brokeboater for your input- we actually have a trip planned to FT Wilderness in May, and to the Pigeon Forge KOA in April. Never been to Pigeon Forge KOA before so glad to see its on someone's good place list.

Here are a three we like plus one:
1 Davis Mountain State Park - Texas
2 Matagorda (One of LCRA's campgrounds) on the Texas Coast
3 Padre Island National Seashore near Corpus Christi - no hook ups
4. Any place close to Big Bend National Park
Sharing locations is a great idea, I doubt any of these get over run just because I shared a few of our favorites.

Boondocker will share his favorite spot.
Panamint Vally Halfway up the north hillside. Great 50 mile view of valley below and beyond.

Favorite Campground
Here is our favorite for pure scenic beauty, The Watauga Dam Campground. A TVA campground in Eastern Tennessee on the beautiful Watauga River.
https://tennesseerivervalleygeotouri...4-f035b134bf3c
We love it there. So peaceful and rainbow trout fishing just out the backdoor.
Our campsite down below the Dam on the Watauga River. It is near Elizabethton, TN.

I have to say that was my first thought as well.
We were checking camping posts the other day as we drove home from Denver.
Someone was touting the best boondocking spots in AZ.
We got a couple ideas, mainly we were happy that he didn't mention any of our favorites.
In general I'd say our favorite spots are in National Forests/BLM (out west), either campgrounds or dry camping.

We have a slightly different perspective. We hold our favorites, because they best serve our travel needs.
New Frontier CG is a PassPort America park on the East side of Winnemucca. It's about a day's drive from home, so good coming and going.
We like the KOA on the East side of OKC. It's quiet and reasonably accessible. We have other KOAs that are high on our list, but this one tops the list.
Yanks RV Resort in Greenfield CA is one of our favorite parks. It is a very nice operation with expansive concrete pads, nice landscaping, a great dog run, club house for groups and not a bad pool. The challenge is that the location is kind of in the middle of no where and the wind is significant from time to time. But it is on HW101, which is a common route to Southern CA and may well see more traffic now that HW1 has a bridge out.
Now we have other favorite parks, but the rules were a total of three. You got them. Pat
