Electric Kick Scooters
My wife and I are considering purchasing a couple of electric kick scooters to take with us on Airstream trips. We have also considered e-bikes, but I really like the idea of an electric scooter. They fold down to a relatively small size, they are lightweight, there are no gasoline fumes, etc. I could easily put two of them inside the trailer when towing and now worry about the added weight.
I've looked at many brands, and there is a wide range of prices, features, range, etc. I'd like to optimize performance and range, and I certainly want something that charges quickly and easily. We would probably use them at home also, to run into town to eat occasionally (.5 to 1 mile).
The unit that interests me the most right now is the Segway Ninebot Kickscooter MAX. It's a pricey unit at $800, but it has nice features. It has a top speed of 18.6 mph, it charges in 6 hours, it has a range of 40.4 miles, and it weighs 41.2 lbs. It has pneumatic tires and it can be used in mild off-road situations and trails.
Does anyone else take electric kick scooters with them with them when camping? Any thoughts on this unit or others?
