Dumb question....but stupid not to ask!
We have a 2018 22FB Bambi (first time Airstream owners) and I have a question I know someone can answer:
Bedding.... granted the bed is more of a XL Double size rather than a queen; but I have a couple of sets of queen sheets that I do not use and thought, hey...use her in Trilla! (her namesake). Is there a trick that others have used in this situation, and how do you do it?
Thx from Wyo!

Queen size sheets will just slide off. Best to use the double size (54" wide).

You may find you need a memory foam topper since the mattress is a little "firm". The extra size may not be a problem. Or, get some suspenders and attach to the queen size under the mattress!

When we got our first RV queen bed we used the sheets we had in the house. We used pieces of elastic, straps with buckles at the corners so that the sheets would stay on. They are ok, but still occasionally one will come loose at the corners when I roll over during the night. Walmart has a few choices. (Google search for elastic mattress corner straps)
Good -> https://www.amazon.com/WY-Fastener-M...08347081&psc=1
better-> https://www.amazon.com/Abode1st-Fast...44936046&psc=1
Later on we realize there are sheets available that really fit. (Google search RV short queen sheets) They are no more expensive than standard sheets at Amazon. They work great on my RV Queen, which has two 45 degree cut corners at the foot and 6" radius at the head corners. (all RV queen mattress are not the same but the corners are forgiving)

Reading early posts I was introduced to AB Lifestyles, an Airstream Bedding Store. Excellent customer service and outstanding quality products. Ordered sheets and blankets, perfect fit. No wrinkle mattress sheets that are too big, no need to tuck and hide excess material. Their products are designed for all Airstream bedding combinations.

Bed bath and beyond sells little slotted keepers that slide over the protruding sewn edges of the mattress. Has worked on our Bambi,Safari and international.

Just a thought to pass along...we bought sheets that are made to fit our Airstream beds but I keep a couple old flat sheets and pillow cases from the house for when the kids or guests sleep in a tent or just to use for covering the picnic table benches or to use as extra blankets inside or out. The pillowcases are great for covering items like fan or other things that ride inside on the floor during travel. If they move during traVel they tend not to scratch anything if stored inside an old pillow case.

I do bizarre things with sheets that work for a single male, so I won’t advise on sheets, but I’ll say I haven’t folded anything in years and use nothing with elastic, more of a tuck guy myself, but I found (and I hear a lot about under bed condensation) so I bought some pink panther insulation board to put under the bed and this to go on top. My bed is soo comfy and dry

You might want to check out Mattress Insider:
https://www.mattressinsider.com/
Especially if you want to see if there is an option to replace the mattress with something more comfortable and will fit.
We ordered a breathable mattress mat to prevent condensation under our mattress. You can order in custom sizes.

Our little 2008 22’ Sport is the predecessor to the 22’FB and the 4-place dinette collapsed to make a true Queen. We never use it a a dinette and had a custom-cut foam mattress made 10” thick and full-queen. So in-effect, we now have a 22’FB and use the full-sized sofa as our eating area using folding TV-tables (which store in their flattened condition between the galley and bed.).
This also accommodates us when we take grandchild along because the full sofa makes into a real twin.

When we put electric heating pads on our queen I took some men's suspenders and cut the threads holding the "X." I used the single straps cross ways underneath the pad to hold it in position. Now the pad does not move around. We do the same for Airstram specific bottom sheets too.

At back-to-school sales at Bed Bath & Beyond you will find twin sets suitable for dorm beds. We also use a bed garter (found at WalMart) to hold the bed together. Making the bed takes more time but everything stays together ‘til laundry day.
Welcome to streaming and sleep tight.

Jersey fitted sheets!
I don’t see anybody suggesting jersey fitted sheets (t-shirt material). They are very forgiving when it comes to sizes and oddly shaped Airstream mattresses. It’s all I use, Target has a good selection.
No need for wrestling with suspenders underneath the mattress, they conform to curves of the mattress and stay in place.

We have an International 22FB. I added a 4” gel memory foam topper and bought Beddy’s comforter set in full size. It is much easier to make the bed with the zippers than doing a dance every morning and the foam made the mattress much more comfortable. Enjoy your Airstream!

congratulations on your Airstream purchase. our first Airstream was a 22 also. We now have a 2018 25FT FBT International serenity .We also as many recommended we put a gel-topper on the factory mattress. You can buy garters that will hold the sheets tight from bed Bath and beyond. Works very well. We now have a twin set up. And also use the garters which holds a twin sheet nice and tight. hope this is helpful. Safe travels .See you down the road neighbor. #22624
